Don't think that's the final design. Even if it were though, I could see it getting by with only a fan or two. I mean it's not doing any heavy 3D Processing like the 360, PS3, and PC's do.

It seems interesting, but I doubt these kickstarted homegrown consoles would get the following they need from the big developer- at least, not enough to REALLY take off. Because as good as Indie games are, there's only so much I'd be willing to pay for a console devoted to nothing but indie games, especially when I already have Steam for that.

The Kickstarter video is the same as Ouya's. The designing of the product, the way the speaker talks, everything. The interface of the device is the same, too. How are we expected to believe this is not the same product re branded, especially when we've heard little about "Ouya" since it's announcement.

I have seen a first look at ouya It needs batteries for starters, which is already a bad strike. While I see the intention, I don't understand the reasoning but you know what, why the hell not, people are taking risks, whether its for the better or for worse.

I assume we're supposedly to read this with tongue firmly in cheek? "ITEM! 22-year-old game freely available on other platforms / on internet is HOT launch title for new system!" Give me a break. Until they announce a real game, I'm not dropping $100 (or even $20) on a system so I can put Angry Birds on my TV.

everyone keeps complaining about the graphics personally i dont think they look all that bad plus you can upgrade the hardware and if it does cloud streaming like there saying it will have better graphics than anything out there. You give me battletoads and i'll give you $99 for a ouya!

See, just looking at that list of games tells me that the majority of people who contributed to this kickstarter are expecting this thing to be something it's not. There is no way the Ouya can run Skyrim, GTA, Battlefield, Mass Effect, or Call of Duty unless your talking about some crappy mobile versions.

Absolutely. It makes me wonder, just how deluded are these people? Are they really promising $99 when they seem to have no understanding about the console or its capabilities? It made me kind of sad to see that. >_>

Not many non-indie developers are gonna wanna develop for yet another platform. Not to mention the console will have to license for these games, and this console would be competing for shelf space against the big three. It's a noble attempt, but just like the Steambox, it will sadly fall flat on its face. I'd probably get it, but if I wanted to get indie games/open source games, I'd play PC.

You forgot to read the articles. Developers would be developing for Android, not a new platform. Also there will be no need for licensing. From what I understand the Tegra is a pretty sweet cpu/gpu combo chip, so for someone that wants to pay $99 for system and not $500+ it's incredibly affordable.
