Lol, I don't know what to say. The concept of using DC characters in a MOBA is interesting, but it feels as though they are trying to ride off of the League of Legend success.

Well, I want to wait until I see some solid gameplay footage before I start making a decision, but on paper (webpage) it sounds like a good idea. I think. But then, I've never even HEARD of a 'MOBA' before today, let alone played one.

Still calling these games MOBA I see. In the end this game still doesn't sound very excited. It also looks like it's going to have balance issues with this "Gem." System. Are there even any intricacies? Like maybe denies? a non-linear jungle? gold lost on death? how do creeps work? how do towers work? Items? You know stuff that gives Dota-like games a high skill ceiling or is it going to be along the lines of LoL or even less complex? This article doesn't really give much depth.

A Console ARTS.. How funny. There is a reason Strategy Games do not work on consoles, there is significantly more reasons that an ARTS won't work without removing a ton of mechanics that makes games like DotA so good. Seems like a quick cash grab, I doubt Monolith has the talent anyway, couple this as a console title and you have an immediate failure. Warner Bros should be focus on PC Market for a game like this. Also let's not compare the Dota 2 International to a 5v5 of random players in a game that's probably going to be neutered to hell and back.

Firstly, this isn't an ARTS. It's a MOBA. Massively Online Battle Arena. That's what League of Legends is, that's what DotA2 is. It's perfectly capable of transferring to consoles, permitted they give the controls an action-game feel; face buttons for attacks/items/dodging, sticks for movements and directional attacks, d-pad for item management/menu browsing, shoulder buttons for utility skills or whatever else they can think of. If they can keep to the original DotA formula for three lanes and some limited jungle, I can't see a reason why this would ultimately fail. Secondly, I made the comparison because it's an accurate one. Get over it. The DotA2 International was the first time Valve had shown the game off in a big way to the public. Monolith is trying to do the same by showing it off at the biggest gaming convention in America, E3, while giving convention-goers a chance to get some hands-on time. Smart move by them.

Sorry, Using the ridiculous term coined by Riot is unacceptable. It's either a Dota-like or Action RTS. MOBA sounds ridiculous. With that said, no it's not capable of transferring over. Games like Dota 2 are very quick paced in terms of split reaction times, this isn't something you can translate to consoles. Yes, Basics are possible, as stated. The game will be neutered. Even more so than games like League of Legends. Just one simple example. Explain to me how to jump between five opponents for target priority in about 5-10 seconds time? You just can't, it takes precision. You can't simply "Cycle" through targets.. No I don't expect this game to have complexity of say Dota 2, but even simple mechanics will be hurt in the end. Also it's (Dota 2), Dota 2 does not use the acronym "Defense of the Ancients" it's simply called Dota 2.
