Now, THAT'S how to sell a 3DS game! It's great to see that Nintendo is putting so much faith into third parties, especially just as the Wii U is gaining so much third party support.

SSX can keep dubstep, drum and bass should be for action sequences (Metal Gear Solid style) and Gears of War games should stick to that orchestral feel. I'd hate to have Marcus say the F word then have some WUB-DUB-DUB-DUB-WUUUUUUB sound when a locust jumps onto the boat. Dubstep is now the new-cool genre. I hate it. It's only good for feeling awesome or parties, nothing else.

Im not a fan of dubstep, infact if it doesn’t have a guitar and some element of musical talent (writing and playing) im not interested. I guess im just out of touch, afterall im in the 'over 30' bracket... On a serious note, as long as the wub invasion is limited to games trailers only I honestly don’t mind. Its once ingame music is taken over we need to start worrying. Unless its handled like SSX. With the custom soundtrack I don’t have to listen to a droning wub wub wub noise, I can listen to my Killswitch Engage back catalogue as I hurtle down a mountain at eye melting speeds.

I think I have a brilliant idea for dynamic music in an action-RPG. You know how in Kingdom Hearts you have that annoying sound play when your health is low? How about, instead of that, the music changes to dubstep just to piss off people who hate dubstep, but piss them off in a good way! Everybody else would get a good laugh or two!

Voted for Skyward Sword! But these are all great games here that deserve the award. The field is tricky tho: Battlefield 3 and COD will hurt each others votes, Portal 2 and Minecraft should vie for a similar audience, Uncharted 3 and Batman probably share part of the same crowd too. Skyrim could take it, but there might be enough fans pissed off on how broken the game has been to stave off a win. LA Noir and Fifa are outside chances, but never count out the world's love for soccer. And of course every Nintendo/Zelda fanboy (myself included) are gunna hammer this thing for a Skyward Sword victory.

I don't see why CoD being popular in a fan vote is surprising. It is one of the most popular series ever put out and has millions of devoted fans. This is the BAFTA Audience Award, not the Most innovative game of the year competition.

Thanks GR, I better take these screens to Kinko's and blow em up before PIPA passes!!! Seriously, maybe if there was some original art/effort put into these I'd pay those prices. I love the concept, but they're too minimalistic to really warrant dropping money on them.

I don't even get why they need a timeline. Every Zelda game, at least from a story standpoint, is the exact same thing. It's like a mad lib - the story is the same, you just swap some items, numbers, and which character is the evil boss, and BAM! you have the barest semblance of something different than the last one.

Ever since I read a few months ago the there wasn't a timeline as such, merely each game tells a different version of the legend, I have felt that is the best way to describe the games. It's kind of like a chinese whisper, told through generations and being altered as it gets told between people. Some people add a train (spirit tracks), some a boat (wind waker / phantom hourglass), some a time travel element (ocarina of time / link to the past) and some even add a.... windfish?! (link's awakening). I like the theory that they are all just differing versions of the same "LEGEND" of Zelda and I have actually started enjoying all the games more because of it. Currently playing my way through: - Ocarina of Time (Master Quest) - Skyward Sword - Link to the Past - Minish Cap - Zelda I - Zelda II

"...others argue there's absolutely no continuity whatsoever, believing that the story of Link and Zelda is simply a "legend" being told throughout the years by different societies..." I always just assumed it was something like this. I never thought that one zelda game was before or after another in terms of continuity.

I always thought of Wind Waker as chronologically last in the series, and also as taking place in an alternate reality where Link never showed up to get rid of Ganon. Twilight Princess logically follows from Ocarina, which I believe to be first. The real question is where the older games (Zelda 1, 2, LTTP, and Link's Awakening) fit in there. Those four obviously form a chronological sequence, but are they after TP/Wind Waker or before Ocarina? Disclaimer: I haven't played Skyward Sword yet.
