Much respect to InXile and Brian Fargo for trying out a new approach by putting designers to work on the next title rather than getting rid of them. Even if it doesn't ultimately create a huge difference on the consumer end, it will undoubtedly boost the morale and loyalty of their employees, which in turn may lead to arguably better games.

Backed the project and spread the word a bit. Hope it succeeds, one way or another. Even if the campaign falls through, they could still do it via on-site paypal donations. Added bonus of no time limit and all.

HOW ABOUT A NEW SUPREME COMMANDER CHRIS!!!!! Jeez! I hate it when people in the entertainment industry act like they have no idea what their audience wants. I love Chris Taylor! I love his games. He is a likable guy and I want him and his studio to be successful. I just wish we could get a new Supreme Commander. I loved both the original and the sequel.

GPG doesnt own the intellectual property for Supreme Commander, Square Enix does. Meaning either they would have to allow GPG to make a new one or GPG would have to buy the IP outright from them, which they can ill afford if they needed a kickstarter campaign. All the IP's Chris and GPG have made are not owned by him, meaning for them to develop and publish this game it has to be a new idea as not to attract any law suits against them. I'd love a Supreme Commander 3, i loved 1 and liked 2 (changing how the economy worked wasnt a smart move) but it just wont happen anytime soon, or not at least with Chris at the helm "/

Hmmm, I can see his argument, and it makes sense, but I don't know to what extent I'd agree with him. After all, if their initial goal is their original game design, should the rest of the additions not be thought of in a similar manner to DLC? Like, if they pledge more money, they have more of a chance to get additional content, rather than only getting the full game fi they pledge more than their basic goal?
