poopaloop1 That would be really kickass if there was a mission where you had to shoot up baddies on a zeppelin.

What's ironic about this is Rockstar first released a PS2 bundle with GTAIII and Vice City. Later in the PS2 life cycle, they released the "complete" edition that included GTA: San Andreas. My guess: They are going to go the full HD route with San Andreas (which is largely considered the BEST GTA), but go the PS2 Classics route with GTAIII and Vice City. That pisses me off because Vice City is my absolute favorite GTA game. I would love to see them do more with it. Alas, short of hitting a $330M Mega Millions jackpot (and convincing Rockstar to do it), that's never probably going to happen.

I really just wish they would release an updated Vice City. I know it will never happen but I really have a problem seeing character models gesture around with wooden hands and static faces. I don't quite understand why anyone would buy this on PS3 instead of Steam though. Almost any PC can run it and I bought the entire GTA series for about $20 last year.

Probably one of the most overrated ones. It had amazing missions and characters, but also had skill grinding, you had to do it for certain missions (like the one that asked you to have some high breath capacity skill, so you has to keep diving/surfacing for some dreaded time) it was just so boring. The whole turf wars concept was broken & sleep inducing, weapons sounded horrible and the gunplay was weak. Most of the content outside of the main plot was collect-a-ton not very fun to do.

Amen. San Andreas is by far the best GTA game, and it's not even close. CJ is the most likeable character in the whole series. You can customize everything and level up your skills with all the guns and cars, which gives you an incentive to try everything. The map is incredible with dozens of places in which to play around. The cars are awesome and good cars are available everywhere. It's possibly the most fun driving environment in a game ever. The gang wars element was awesome. The story is serious, but the desire for seriousness and realism always takes a backseat to having FUN, which is why people (or at least I) play games in the first place. It truly is a sandbox game because you can do anything you want. I spent hours exploring the countryside and jetpacking around. There are a zillion collectibles. On the other hand, for the life of me I've never understood why GTA IV is so highly thought of in gaming circles. That game is the most pretentious, unfun piece of garbage I've ever played. I don't usually get worked up about how many stars or points out of ten gaming websites give games, but the absurd number of 10/10 rankings GTA IV got was just mind-boggling. Did Rockstar pay everyone off, or did every game reviewer on the planet go brain dead when they reviewed the game? The only way I can explain it is that everyone had gotten themselves so worked up pre-release that they felt they had to keep buying into the idea that it was an incredible, genre defining work of art because to admit otherwise would result in a colossal loss of face. Well, it wasn't. It was an awful experience from start to finish. If it didn't have GTA IV stamped on the box, it would have been (rightly) pilloried by everyone and the company that made it would have been out of business in a week. The main problem with IV, other than it being depressing as hell and Niko being about as interesting as watching someone else watch paint dry, is that it isn't any fun to play. The cellphone is possibly the most annoying feature in gaming history. Someone forgot to tell Rockstar that driving in New York is a total pain in the ass in real life. The cramped nature of the city offered few interesting sandbox opportunities. The achievements were lame (Fly a helicopter under all the bridges?). The minigames were pathetic. When the coolest thing about a game is a GPS feature, you've got a real dog on your hands, and that's what GTA IV was. I've been playing GTA games since the first one on PC and San Andreas is one of my Top 5 all-time favorite games, so I'm as big a fan as it gets, but if GTA V is anything like IV and nothing like San Andreas I'm officially done with the GTA series and moving to the Saint's Row camp. No one's ever going to confuse Saints Row games with art, but they're at least fun to play. GTA IV felt more like an obligation than a good time.
