My question is, considering how you lose an eye at some point in the game, how will the 3DS handle first-person view without the "technical" depth-perception? This has been REALLY bothering me.

In the demo, when you aim in first person, the 3d automatically gets turned off.

I hate to sound like an elitist (although I probably am one), but it's a shame that this game isn't coming to PC, which would probably be the only way to guarantee a stable frame rate of a game slowed down to 10% of the original speed.

But that theme and those moves and its graphics just sold me on the game. I'm not a huge fighting game fan, though I like my fair share, and the only series I really, REALLY liked was Super Smash Bros. and Soul Caliber. And damn, this looks like a solid entry into the series.
I'll stay my money-spending hand until the review comes out.

I've posted dozens of screenshots on Steam of some absolutely beautiful scenes in this game. There was one dungeon that looked soooo much like Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings and it floored me with its size and detail.
This is the one game that I can truly say I am interested in every single place I came across. Even if I haven't played it for weeks, I still love every part of it.
It's just amazing that the creators worked to make each dungeon and area unique. I never, ever came across an area that reminded me exactly of another area, and that shows real dedication.

Bad dialog, floaty gameplay... not my cup of tea. If the story suffices, I'll check it out. But seriously, that dialog isn't good.

Oh my god.
The comments made my day. Everybody is acting all butthurt about how comparison videos will just lead to fanboy bitching ... but really the only bitching was ABOUT the comparison video itself.
My second favorite comment was the dumbass who requested a comparison of this game on PC. Psst ... it's not coming out on PC. Yes we all are impressed that your rig you upgraded a month ago has a better videocard than a game console who's specs are from 2005. Pat yourself on the back you magical man of the future, or I guess you should have your robot butler do that.

Say you work at a company and, both you and your coworker have the same job, and you don't lose anything from sharing news and you would get the info out to more people, would you share the news? also the other worker is based in a different country.
if you answered yes you have a brain, both GR and CVG are owned by Future, show no one is stealing anything, GR is just spreading info

Picked this game up last Steam sale for like $2 (maybe $3) and found it to be a very worthwhile gaming investment. I'm currently glued to Dark Souls on my PS3, which I why I am surprised I'm giving this game as much time as I am.
In some ways they do resemble each other: both have incredibly open character design mechanics and both are punishingly hard while maintaining an addictive risk/reward balance.
Yet one is terrifyingly serious while the other has no problem getting it's silly on. And in most other regards the two games are MILES apart, but I can't stop hopping from one to the other.
Yeah, just thought you'd like to know that so I can only somewhat more comfortably introduce some awkward critism. Think of me as the guy who nervously comments on the weather before telling you (correctly) that your fly is open.
While I am digging these PC Gamer Plays segments (being a subscriber to the mag since the Quake cover story issue), I was sorely disappointed to see the further-in-than-expected gameplay videos, especially with Evan's character kept so boringly ALIVE. I hope the minute the camera was turned off that character fell into a manhole or something. I know that might sound cruel, especially if said character has been well-fought, but sheesh, a little shake-it-up for the audience, maybe? A throw-away character, perhaps? A never-before-tried speed run straight to the 10th floor?
At least Chris' delivered on the promise of MANY DEATHS.
Although the real lost opportunity was the baffle and wonder that accompanies that first level, when you quickly become an in-game beer afficiando while hammering at things that appear to be far more dangerous than their goofy forms would suggest. Getting your arms around the game's mechanics early on is a joy when everything around you is at once deadly and wonderfully aloof. For example: your character's defiant-but-soon-to-be-schooled swagger. It's priceless!
This game is all charm while the videos treated it as if it were as plain-jane as ROGUE itself (respectful, certainly, but still rather ho-hum-now-here-we-have-this).
How about a bit more fun next time fellas? See the BF3 stunts vid for inspiration!
