I never really got into the older Castlevania games, I played a few but didn't really enjoy them. I decided to give this one ago because I like the God of War style of game play and this seemed similar. I'm so glad I did. I love the first LoS game and can't wait to play the sequel. Now if only I had a 3DS to play the spin off

2D or 3D, it doesn't matter to me...I'll have to check it out. A 2D Castlevania would be spectacular, but even with the 3DS hardware, they could make a 3D game on par with Curse of Darkness, which was great, so I think I'll be happy no matter what they do.

If this is going to be 3DS exclusive, I can almost guarantee that it's not the sequel to LoS. After seeing the possibilities for visual design in LoS, there's no way 3DS hardware can compete, making the sequel automatically less. I'm not a graphics whore, but just try to tell me that the Three Towers level, all the Vampire Castle levels, and just about the whole damn game wouldn't look like garbage on a 3DS, even with the 3D turned off. But I digress; if I had to put money down, I'd say Mirror of Faith is going to be a 2D Metroidvania style game. I would hope for it to be the much anticipated 1999 story, involving Julius, possibly the most powerful Belmont of all time. Either way, I'm already pissing my pants over this game, no matter which story line it falls into, and will undoubtedly be picking up the minute it releases. Fun fact: this will be the 15th Castlevania title to include the word 'of.'

If it were hand-drawn, 2D Metroidvania goodness, then I would be all in without any reservations. I would buy a 3DS just for that game. As it is, Lords of Shadow was underrated and loathed by many for reasons I didn't fully sympathize with. I liked it, more than I did God of War (in most parts). I won't complain about a 3D game, but a 2D game would be much better.

Man I've been waiting a long time for this. Annoyed that it took this long to come to PSN (considering SOTN's Playstation roots) but happy to see it's finally here. Or is it? No sign of it yet on PSN, although it is the 27th, right? Well, I guess I've waited this long... Of course I realize that this is no SOTN but I'm such a Castlevania nut that I don't care. In fact I'm such a Castlevania nut that I bought Judgement for Wii and actually kind of liked it. That said, I think it is safe to assume I'll dig Harmony of Despair even more (especially being clear on what I'm getting myself into), more so with the PSN version's lcoal 4-player support. Color me old school but my friends and I tend to have more fun gaming together on the same couch as opposed to remotely over mics, so I'm stoked for that. Personally I think it has something to do with the capacity for any one of us to initiate s physical beatdown should someone drop the ball or get too "uppity". It allows for a physical "measured response" rather than an ultimately harmless verbal lashing, which I think does a better job of keeping everyone focused than going the pathetic low-brow route of homophobia or mother jokes. Which isn't to say that heavy punches to an arm are necessarily high-brow, but it certainly keeps everyone in check with the complete and absolute lack of anonymity, which for anyone groomed on gaming in the arcades of old was an inherit part of the process. Personally I think more of today's gaming youth could benefit from some real physical repercussions to their seemingly endless trash talk. Just once I'd love to be able to ring the doorbell on the house of the little Jimmy who just called my mother something unsavory. It's actually the main reason I don't play much multiplayer on consoles. At least PC multiplayer games tend to be populated by more mature audiences, no doubt likely to the steeper costs and maintenacne involved in owning a decent gaming rig. Anyhoo, way off point here. Harmony of Despair for PSN! Woo hoo! Now if it would only appear in the PS Store as expected...
