The whole Diablo III thing is terrible, when you get down to it. I mean, the always-online DRM (even for singleplayer, which means you get lag in singleplayer; gj Blizzard) is bad enough, but now you can't even progress past a certain point in the game for three days that can be reached in under two hours. It's a good game, but it has all these restrictions and barriers surrounding it that I can't even be bothered to try anymore.

I am not saying it is a great practice. I for one condone it. It is not a good business model, especially considering you have to be online to play the game (if the purchase doesn't go through, they cancel your account). I was just putting into perspective a ridiculous article which does not reflect the whole reality of the 'issue'. I have been very frustrated with Blizzard with the whole 'always online' DRM that they have put in place. I bought the game on day 1, and have suffered some error 37. A very frustrating experience... I also understand, though, that major AAA titles launches always suffer problems because of the million people hammering the servers. So, always-online DRM: bad! Error 37? you get it with COD and other games when they launch.

I don't think you meant the word "condone" (which means "to approve of"), from the context of it. You meant you don't support it, right? Regardless, it was a very underhanded move to implement their change in the digital distribution policy without informing people of the change or actually adding it to their policy in their Terms of Sales. Again, the biggest complaint is that people bought a product, expecting immediate access to that product and they find out after they spent their money that they don't *get* that product until sometime later. According to these people complaining, the money has already left their bank accounts or paypal accounts on the financial side of things; so the exchange of payment has already taken place. Another thing I've noticed on the Blizzard side of things is that they've been removing staff posts and responses from the forum threads discussing this. Their new forum sticky is also a completely different story from their former sticky, changing their claim from "you only get the starter edition for now" to "the starter edition lock is a bug" (not verbatim, but a summary). I find the way they're handling this issue very disturbing as they're not being forthright to their customers. Blizzard representatives shouldn't have to cover and completely change their story. If there was a misunderstanding then they should clarify it but leave a history of their announcements along with the corrections so that they don't destroy the trust their customers have in them. I don't deny Blizzard's claim that it's trying to stem the flow of gold sellers/spammers, after all these people need to protect their business. At the same time they need to protect their investment, which is their legitimate customers, and to which their current actions are harming.

Have some of you actually read the Blizzard post and the reasonning behind it? Until Blizzard has authentified the transaction, you get the starter edition. Gamers do not get stuck with starter for 72 hours, this can be done in a matter of minutes, UP TO 72 hours. Just like when you go to the grocery store, you wait until the transaction is verified and confirmed, then you take your purchases, and leave the store. It is because of poorly written articles like those (no verifications, no understanding of what you are writing about) that false rumours appear. Paiment through? Full game for you! Standard practice in the brick and mortar stores.

What sucks is the RMAH. Ideally, they would require the purchase of some $100 thingamjig so that no one would use it and the in-game economy would stay stable (and coincidentally purely in-game.) Or just not implement it at all. That'd work too.

The auction house is a farce from the start. Anyway, anyone who uses it, rather than actually playing the game to get items themselves, deserves whatever happens to them. And yes, I've heard the theories on why someone might want to use the auction house, and they're bullshit.

I can only pray that ppl would learn to never buy anything from blizzard again. There's no excuse to force ppl have online connection in a single player mode. This is a total royal bullshit. But ofc fanboys would buy anything anyway... As for me, just because of that one single move I wait for a crack. It's ok, I'm in no rush, but they won't see my money with shit like this.

@tyler_14_420 All the improvements? everything you mentioned about the hotkeys came standard with Diablo 2? except you could only have 2 usable at one time. the ui is fine, i wouldn't change that... What I am saying is its a dumbed down version of diablo 2, I thought the idea of a sequel was to surpass the original, they totally threw out customization in the game, I'll admit stats were semi pointless in D2, but throwing it out makes for a better game? why not revise stats so it is meaningful.. I feel the same way about the skills.. They really killed the replay value for the game as well, when you can't have a character that is unique...I prolly spent as much time looking at different builds and thinking up new ones as I did actually playing the game. Anyways just my humble opinion... I think its funny when people get offended because I don't think the same as they do. PS I'f you are expected a better diablo 2, don't come into the game with big expectations,

Also, to be fair, so many people are complaining that it's not enough like Diablo 2 that I'm wondering why they aren't just playing Diablo 2 now. These same people complain about the multiplayer so... what do you want? Diablo 2 HD? Sorry it's not an HD Remake, but that'd be boring. I'm loving Diablo 3, just finished Normal difficulty and starting on Nightmare. The maintenance downtime has been minimal, and my internet is crap yet I get pretty good latency.

"...with a team of only 12 people, and turning it around for summer 2013, you guys must be staggeringly talented." Well, Pokemon Red and Green were made with a team of only 9 people. Although, it did take them 6 years to make those games.

Don't get me wrong, this story is bullcrap (well, it's about a bullcrap cash grab), but... You can't compare the development of Pokemon with a real game. Agame that, you know, has any legit depth and playabiliy to it. The real question is how worthless do you have to be to have 9 (I'm assuming) experienced industry folks take 6 years to make Pokemon Red and Green? Even a year would be embarrassing.
