Dave, why are you so good at analyzing things?
Also, here's my two cents:
1) I feel the maps (and possibly campaign) will feel same-y, because I've personally never had any attachments to Call of Duty maps, save for a few of CoD4's. The map packs have always been nicer, since it changes things up (for a hefty $15, of course.)
2) The "mechs" are most likely going to be awesome, because from what I've read, it'll have to be taken down with certain hit points and potential teamwork. Unless, of course, you take the long way by lobbing grenades at it, which will most likely work. Or, like you, it'll be PR hype.
3) Horse are... going to be just like any set pieces. But with HORSES! Let's face it, if it's not a set piece, it's a linear acceleration down a path where we have to avoid the odd rock/rubble to avoid restarting it.
4) The Strike Force mode (segment?) sounds stellar, and I can't imagine them fucking that up--much. I, too, fear the decisions made across the campaign will be minor and make only the slightest dent in the story. However, if they're gonna go around and claim it'll be worth a replay of the story to see the different endings or outcomes, they're gonna have to do SOMETHING. They have a name and reputation to live up to.
5) Zombies are zombies. It'll go well no matter what.
