They should bring back the option to choose a differant race again ala DA:O. Granted, it may be a bit harder to do these days due to all the charecters being voiced but it would still be nice. Also, bring Morrigan back in to it, I need to know what happened to her and my demon seed!!!! Maybe with the story revolving around the templars and the mages she will pop back up again, helping one of the sides defeat the other for her own purposes. Unless it's set a few years after DA2 and you are the demon baby!!! Either way, it will hopefully be good, if not *looks at Obsidians Project Eternity*.....there are other options.....

I think the combat was improved in DA2, but it can be improved further. The waves of enemies somewhat ruined the immersion that the more action-rpg combat would have otherwise created in my opinion. Sure there are some situations where waves in a fight might be appropriate (blood mage summoning monsters is one that comes to mind) but it shouldn't be something that occurs in every fight. I also liked the approach to the Story in regards to not being the figure that the world revolves around so much as one of many prominent figures in a small pond. The main character was a witness to the gameworld's history more than they were a direct shot caller. It was a refreshing change, in most of the better fantasy tales it isn't usually the main character alone who determines how things will turn out. That said, the ending, and to some degree the course of the game, needs to reflect in some part the actions of the player, otherwise it ceases to be an RPG of any sort. Act 3 of DA2 was a little on the rails in this regard, everything was happening the same exact way regardless of what had happened in Act 1 or Act 2. That shouldn't be repeated. Also, DA3's ending had better not be in any way reminiscent of the Catalyst ending, and if there is any effective military strength number, it had better mean something at the end of the game.

Notice that this announcement comes almost *exactly* five years after EA's acquisition of Bioware's parent, VG Holdings. The five-year period was probably a buy-out option and/or retention clause in the agreement for EA's acquisition of VG Holdings. I'm not surprised that these two exercised it as soon as they could, or that they decided to sell their interest in VG Holdings five years ago. Consider: 1. They built a successful studio by making games that tell the same basic story over and over, the Hero's Journey, in different settings (and shame on you if you haven't read Joseph Campbell). 2. They got tired of doing it and/or realized they they were running out of new settings. 3. They had a lot of equity in a very valuable but private company which meant that they couldn't cash out very easily. 4. EA gave them a way to do just that, cash out, by offering to acquire VG Holdings (Bioware), probably for some combination of cash and EA stock. Now the doctors would have some cash and a lot of equity, but it would be equity they could easily convert to cash (by selling EA shares on the stock exchange). 5.In order to help protect the value of the Bioware brand, however--and their investment in it--EA probably demanded that the doctors continue in some figurehead role for five years as part of the acquisition. That's not an uncommon requirement in corporate acquisitions because it conveys the image of continuity and stability, which helps to preserve value. And, voila! Exactly five years later, Drs. Muzyka and Zeschuk coincidentally retire at the same time to "pursue other interests". Wish them well, people, but, by God, don't feel sorry for them. They did what they enjoyed doing for a while, they made their money, they knew when to get out, and they did. I wish them well, myself, but I'm also pissed off about all the bullshit they spewed over the last five years about their continued dedication to gaming and their passion for continuing to make great games with EA, which we now can see was little more than toeing the EA company line because they knew from the outset that they had to stick it out for five years and help protect the brand. Thanks, Drs., you gave us five great games. No thanks, however, for all of your shitty sequels and your obviously disingenuous corporate propaganda over the last five years. How does it feel to be sell-outs?

I wouldn't mind, if they didn't charge full retail price. $60, and on day one you want me to spend another $10-20 to unlock some code on the disc I just spent $60 for? It's bullshit. If you want to sell me 85% of the game, charge me $85% of the price, dicks. And then they release a GOTY edition with all DLC for like $40! (looking at you Bethesda) This whole system is screwy.

Damn you EA, this is not what we want BioWare to be doing. Then again, this isn't BioWare, it's Mythic, which EA attached the BioWare name to. One of half a dozen BW studios. i.e. the name BioWare means a grand total of nothing anymore. RIP. (And Mythic hasn't been a good studio in about a decade)

A new ending is what it must come with. Seriously why would I want a Reaper helping me along with the game if it doesn't change the outcome. I actually liked the first Mass Effect 3 ending. It left room open for what actually happened and we got something awesome like the Indoctrination Theory. But then Bioware said, "NOPE!" Yes there will be new gameplay, cut scenes and a new mission but if having an entire Reaper helping us doesn't change the outcome of the game's ending, why would I want to buy it? It just sounds really unrealistic.

That's a bit harsh, isn't it? I think we can all agree the multi-player isn't anything special, but it isn't bad if you're looking for a game to play with some buds. I just appreciate that they're improving it at all. You'd expect Bioware to let it die and solely improve the single-player instead.

I completed Mass Effect 3 a few weeks ago, a really enjoyed the storyline and the themes of sacrifice and friendship throughout the game's story. Although, having a great story, the free roam doesn't really feel like a true free roam, as mentioned before in other user's comments, the lack of truly explorable worlds the detail of options available to do in these worlds, gives Mass Effect 3 a very short "shelf-life". After gaining most of the achievements and completing the side quests to gain greater war assets for the ending, I grew very bored of the game and struggled to find anything to do. In short, very good story which really captures the drama and emotion you experience throughout the game, however, dull free roam and lack of interesting and difficult side-quests, make Mass Effect 3, a play in between big releases game.

The extended ending still fails to fix the real problems, and as the name suggests simply makes it longer. The endless focus on the finale also detracts from the other, perhaps bigger issues that the game has, such as lack of real sidequests, explorable worlds and vehicles which still leave it feeling, unfinished, messy and badly written.
