Really? So if you went into Target and bought a product for $60, then discovered Target had a) opened your product, and b) removed the manufacturer's coupon for a second item for free, you would continue to shop at Target???
They opened products, removed value for the consumer, and then pulled every copy of the PC version.
Stay classy, GameStop.

I don't know why, but since the update I can't click on any "next page" links on multi page articles, the buttons are obstructed by the "Related" thing. Sad times :(

Also, if a game were old, shitty, and somehow digitally "used", I wouldn't buy it. I wouldn't think the "Classics" games on the 360 get bought too often.

I agree with taokaka and everyone else. Why are all horror series turning into games which aren't scary. The last game that scared me was Bioshock and I've played Resi 4 & 5 since then and just didn't feel the horror.

For any game that needs to be patched, i have to google the patches anyways, not like origin will change that. I think as a customer steam gives be a quicker way to get the pc games I want without the hassle of logging in to a website.

I am a long time steam user, have tens of steam games + tens of non-steam games I play trough steam. Steam starts with my computer and has all my gaming buddies just waiting for a message "Wanna play that and that?".
I like using it even with non-steam games, because then people see I am playing something, and maybe think twice before asking me for something or bothering me :D And even if they send a message, I can see it in middle of the game instead of having to go back to desktop (skype, msm, etc).
I allready have origin, because of BF 3, but I dont like it, feel like they are forcing it on me, just takes some extra space and costs memory resources. Id rather have the possibility to use steam with BF 3.

you've had to log in to EA servers anyway in, well, every BF.
ParagonT, you think they can afford raising prices? i found boxed copy for 26€ (incl. shipping) for pre-order. Origin has it for 50€. do you absolutely need to get it digitally?

I wish everyone would boycott BF3 - too bad it is an awesome game. Really don't want another download service, Steam is buggy and slow enough without some piece of shit from EA tacked on as well. My god are their servers slow, the most boring part of Bad Company is waiting for their shitty servers to respond. This is a nightmare come true.

I really want Origin to do well for a little while, but then I want EA to crash and burn. EA isn't known for it's great consumer outlook and business practices. It's not the kind of company that I want cornering the market. As my principles as a consumer, as fun as EA's games are, for the good of the industry I'll pass on their games, if I even get a hint of consumer distrust. I can live without games and I have a SPINE, so I hope others finally find theirs as well. Competition is healthy, but I only want to use EA as a way for Steam to generate more deals to try and hold the market.
Frankly competition for consumers is very healthy, but the problem with this is that all games will become only available through their own service, which means you will not be able to buy the digital copy anywhere else or the DLC anywhere else for that matter. This means they could raise prices and compel consumers to buy from them because it's the ONLY way for them to get the game digitally. That means bigger companies, will have an advantage due to the volume of games they possess. WHICH IS BAD.
People want one folder for their games, not multiple, it's inconvenient. I don't want Valve to stay on top, but I don't want a split in the unity of the platform.

I think this is becoming increasingly obsolete every month as more and more downloadable titles are added. I'd like to see how sales for Bastion or Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet compare to these.
