I'm continually surprised at the lack of recognition Deus Ex: Human Revolution is getting. Not saying it deserves more than, say, Skyrim, but I figured it would get something. A great game.

Voted for Skyward Sword! But these are all great games here that deserve the award. The field is tricky tho: Battlefield 3 and COD will hurt each others votes, Portal 2 and Minecraft should vie for a similar audience, Uncharted 3 and Batman probably share part of the same crowd too. Skyrim could take it, but there might be enough fans pissed off on how broken the game has been to stave off a win. LA Noir and Fifa are outside chances, but never count out the world's love for soccer. And of course every Nintendo/Zelda fanboy (myself included) are gunna hammer this thing for a Skyward Sword victory.

I don't see why CoD being popular in a fan vote is surprising. It is one of the most popular series ever put out and has millions of devoted fans. This is the BAFTA Audience Award, not the Most innovative game of the year competition.

I can’t comment on the PC, as i don’t play games on my PC. But I can imagine how utterly game destroying it would be. In general, the only major change needs to be to the MAV. It should not be able to support the weight of a man (i.e. can’t be used as an express lift to unreachable parts of the map) and it should not be able to kill anyone. I can count the number of times I have seen an MAV used as intended (spotting troops, jamming equipment) on one hand. DICE, please fix this.

A BIT LATE. Since most of the posters on here seem to be console folk (you inferior people you), you don't know the situation quite as well. -Dice makes hit detection (among other things) completely client side to help reduce lag during gameplay -Hackers quickly discover this, write a multitude of hacks ranging from aimbots, wallhacks, to even being able to boot server admins from their OWN server -Hackers make public what they are doing, and the vulnerabilities DURING ALPHA testing -Nothing is done -Flash forward months after release and you've got completely destroyed leaderboards, videos on youtube of hackers killing DICE devs, servers where a guy will come on and instantly kill the entire team, from anywhere instantly, and so forth. -To top it all off, they found a way to flag INNOCENT players as hackers to Punkbuster, causing them to get banned. Dice / EA's public response ? "We're working hard on banning all the hackers". They let themselves get to this point by 1. using PB 2. not being proactive 3. Not putting ANY server side checks of hit detection

I'm absolutely with the rest of the lot that takes great offense with the headline's "play BF3 with members of Metallica" claim in regards to Dave Mustaine. Doing so pretty much dismisses Megadeth altogether, which is a fucking insult to the metal fans that I assume this article is attempting to reach. Not to mention it would likely make Dave himself furious. While I am sure a lot of people out there (Tom Goulter included) probably think of Megadeth as some has-been band from the 90s (whereas Metallica remains far more relevant), the metal community at large strongly disagrees. Metallica sold themselves down the river a long time ago, appeasing to frat boys and jocks since the black album while giving the fans that got them off the ground the big middle finger. Meanwhile, Megadeth - while far from perfect - has maintained a significantly higher level of credibility among metal fans, thanks mainly to their (his, really) never veering too far from the formula that made them (him) famous. Dismissing Countdown to Extinction, of course, but I believe every band worth a damn is allowed one fumble in their carrer. Too bad Metallica had at least four. In a row. Death Magnetic may have recovered the ball for Metallica somewhat, but it's almost too little, too late, whereas Megadeth keeps putting smiles on fans' faces with each release. Basically it comes down to this: Dave Mustaine = Megadeth. It has been his life work. He has weathered many storms since forming Megadeth and continues to rise to the occassion. Metallica is certainly a part of his early history but not at all what he would want to be remembered for. That would be Megadeth. What you have done here would like infuriate Dave Mustaine as much as the whole of the thrash metal community. Shitty way to welcome him to the gaming community to be sure. Any chance you can edit the headline to something more accurate, ala "Play with members of Megadeth"? Hell, you don't even have to say "members of" since (again) Dave Mustaine = Megadeth.

Yeah a lot of folks are playing engineers. Probably because they can rocket spam. Aim, shoot in the general vicinity and reap the rewards, requires minimum skill (like noob tubes). As long as they rocket spam vehicles as well as troops (the main reason engineers have rockets) I can live with that. On the subject of engineers I was reminded of one of the strangest decisions in the last patch. Increasing helicopter damage against infantry, and reducing the damage SAM missiles do. WTF?!? If someone could actually rationalise this decision to me I would be grateful. It makes no sense what so ever to me as skilled pilots just massacre ground troops (like the skilled ones needed any help with this!!) and it destroys any element of fun the game has.

I think engineers are far too powerful. on a normal match, the half of the players choose this class. why? Bazookas (anti-tank, anti-air), mines, great guns, pistols at the SAME TIME!!!! it was nice in BFBC2, that you have to choose between mines or bazookas. bring it back!

To be honest most of the attachments are fairly well balanced. But some do seem more popular than others. Personally I love the bipod for LMG's & bolt action sniper rifles, however it seems criminally underused. I do notice a lot of people still using the IRNV, which still seems a little unbalanced. Since the tactical light nerf, the silencer has become the new tactical light (everyone seems to be using it). Im no expert on military tech, but i dont see how it can increase accuracy. One thing that I hope DICE sorts a.s.a.p. is the MAV supporting infantry weight. There is a LOT of exploiting going on due to this.

Firstly, saying a game's popular therefore it's not as bad to steal it is absolute bollocks. People have made a game you want to play, do the decent thing and pay them for it. Also, developers have said before that they concentrate on the console market because PC games are so heavily pirated, so gamers end up losing out too. Pirates are ignorant, selfy little prats.

It's funny when you see all the self-righteous posts about piracy in these stories about how it's wrong and what not. And I'm not saying that it isn't. I purchase all my games. But there is nobody on the internet who is a total saint when it comes to digital theft. I guarantee that all of you still download your music to some extent, if not that, then you're listening to unofficial versions from random users on Youtube at your leisure. Maybe you're stealing a ROM from an old NES game. Or you could be viewing a copyrighted picture of a beautiful woman. Downloaded a movie perhaps? Pretty sure most people's internet avatars are copyrighted material used without permission of the copyright holders, and therefore stolen. The difference between gaming and other media is that video game PR has been much more effective and vigilant in their plight to stop piracy and the reasoning behind it. Like, I said, it's all wrong and illegal, but don't go around acting like you're all upstanding citizens when you're clearly not. Remember kids, don't copy that floppy!

Titan Mode? In Frostbite 2? WANT. I can say that it's my favourite gamemode after Conquest. Incorporating both Conquest style silo capping plus corridor objective gun fights in the Titan. Also balancing resources between assaulting the Titan and keeping the silos. Never did understand why future LMGs get MORE accurate with sustained fire... And if this turns out to be true (probably), DICE will have partially remade the entire main BF series in Frostbite 2: 1942 - 1943 Vietnam - BC2 Vietnam 2 - Back to Karkand 2142 - 2143

I really hope this is true. Titan mode is probably one of the best multiplayer styles every created, which led to some truly epic fights. And those launch pod in the Titan and APC's were just damn good fun.
