      I had a huge problem with the game constantly highlighting the enemies until I realized: it's not supposed to be a /horror/ game. It's a thriller game. When that came to mind, it was a lot less annoying to have the enemies practically screaming "LOOK AT ME I AM SO SCARY!!".

      I'm not sure how I feel about the game taking a more action-oriented approach to things. I mean, this is pretty much what happened to Resident Evil and while I thought RE4 was a really fun game to play, I kind of missed the slower-paced aspects from the older games. Alan Wake may not have been a great game, but I thought it delivered pretty well in the "psychological thriller" department. Here's hoping Remedy can improve the combat and gunplay without compromising what made the first game memorable.

      I loved the first Alan Wake. This sounds like it'll be fun, and I'll end up getting it because I love Alan Wake. As long as Alan Wake 2 doesn't ditch everything that made the first one great in exchange for more action this may be a fun diversion as I patiently await Alan Wake 2. Also, I'll take Twin Peaks and Stephen King over Grindhouse anyday.

      I want more Alan Wake, but not more Action Alan Wake. "No boring voiceover on the power of dreams or the symbolism of lakes needed" This was what made Alan Wake such a different and Awesome Game. "with no boring walk around a dilapidated trailer park or sleepy town" OMG Are you serious? How did you even like playing Alan Wake? These are the parts, in my opinion, that set the game apart. I love those "boring" walks through the game. It added a sense of mystery and danger to it. I love Alan Wake, i just feel like they are going in the wrong direction. The only reason all this would make sense is if they somehow incorporate this XBLA title in with Alan Wake 2. Because at this point all i want is Alan Wake 2. Not some half baked action game with horde mode. Horde mode, for me, only stays fun for a short time before i am moving on.Merry Christmas everyone!

      Agreed. Everything you said was spot on. Alan Wake was exciting, odd, ambitious, and stunningly realised. This XBLA title sounds good, however, Alan Wake 2 needs to head back to its roots. Tbh, if they don't make another, I'd still be happy. The first game was perfection. Waiting 5 years for a game as beautifully and epically delivered is a price worth paying. Not too happy about it, but the quality of the title justifies the wait.

      This makes me feel MUCH better. Of course, Rockstar has every right to ignore Remedy's advice, but past MP3 experience has shown Rockstar to be very sensitive on the topic of whether or not they're doing the franchise justice or not. This is indeed good news. In fact, I'm completely secure in the gameplay aspect of the game; there's little doubt it'll be a quality shooter (multiplayer is another story, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there). The only wild card now is the narrative AND the delivery of said narrative. The motion comic approach frankly sucks compared to the original 'real' comic panels. They were very 'noir', something in-engine montages can't capture. I guess we'll see soon enough.

      @MetroidPrimeRib if you are going to troll, try to be original, don't just repeat your last troll on the previous PC Alan Wake news story. Also, Xbox has no games? Do you ever venture into your local games emporium? Not quite sure what you are trying to say. As for exclusivity, who really cares? I certainly don't care if a game I buy is avaialable on another format. Owning all the current machines (aside from 3DS) I get to choose the best version of a game if it is multiformat.

      That's awesome news for PC gamers. Alan Wake IS one of the best games I've ever played and I'm really happy that more people get to see why. It's a genre all it's own and it's an amazing triumph in story telling meets game play (and graphics- WOW). Go Microsoft, Go Remedy.
