I really like these "period FPS's" we've been getting, namely Bioshock; Dishonored is a small way. Interesting that it was initially being developed by Irrational games, but then got passed on down the 2K pipeline. I wasn't familiar with X-Com before this so I simply thought it was a cool-looking game with an amazing cold-war atmosphere. I didn't understand the hubbub over it being called X-Com nor heard anything of the uproar. Why can't a franchise be 2 different genres? Everyone seems to love an 8 or 16-bit era rendering of modern games. That being said, I understand people being touchy with beloved titles.
