Syfy Developing Booster Gold TV Series

US network orders a pilot script based on DC’s superhero from the future

While the series is still a long way from even going before the cameras, the increasingly productive Syfy has ordered a script from Warehouse 13 , Fringe , The Vampires Diaries and Eli Stone scriptwriter Andrew Kreisberg, who is developing the project through Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions, writes The Hollywood Reporter . Berlanti has some experience of adapting DC superheroes, though unfortunately it was writing the script for Green Lantern . He was also exec producer on Eli Stone and No Ordinary Family .

Created by writer Dan Jurgens in 1986, Booster Gold is the alter ego of Michael Jon Carter, a 25th century super athlete who travels back in time to the present hoping he can use future technology to gain fame and fortune as a superhero. But he slowly learns that being a real hero isn’t all about sponsorship deals.

It seems unlikely this new TV incarnation will have any connection with the version that appeared on Smallville . But stranger things have happened.
