Are there any classic Sonic levels?

I really don't like the fact that features that would've caused any other game to fall flat are listed as bonuses; easy to complete, short, recycled enemies, decades-old concept, static camera, smaller world, linear gameplay.

GAMSREADER GAVE UNCHARTED 3 A NINE OUT OF TEN ALSO THIS DOES NOT SENSE!

When did I say the overall game was short? Also, most of the stuff you mention is bad if executed poorly, and Mario makes those features great almost all of the time

Why doesnt it make sense. This is a classic game, Mario games have always been fun and great in level design. I knew this would be great, a first day purchase for me :). Finally something to play on the 3DS!

    Jizz everywhere. Too bad I don't have a 3DS yet :(

You don't understand Henry. The game reuses some elements from previous games and thus it's terrible. Games need to innovate for innovation's sake, it doesn't matter if the game is good.

Day one purchase for me. Thanks for the review Hank!!

Reusing elements from other games doesn't make the Mario games terrible. They reuse and or improve what they have done in newer games and give the consumers what they want. They also come up with different elements in the game that use different strategies then the last release. Your reasoning is invalid. You can't just label the game badly because they reuse their ideas. You're probably one of those people who enjoy MW3 aka MW2.5.

I can understand how a Mario game is better than Halo Reach

ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT HENRY'S RECTAL CAVITY IS THE SIZE OF OAKLAND? LET'S DO THIS. #occupygilbert

Hank the Tank! A great review and I really like the way you guys compare games at the end. Truthfully I returned New Super Mario Bros within a week of buying it because it just didn't do it for me. This seems like a Mario game I could get behind.

So you're fine with Mario 3D Land building upon and improving elements of the previous game, but it's completely different MW3 because OMG ITS ACTIVISION THEY"RE EVIL URGHHHHHHHHH? It makes you sound like a blind fanboy. If you're going to defend a position, don't reference another game and make it clear that you're going by a double standard.

I played a short demo at Gamefest earlier in the year and I know what you mean. Especially the "run" button just doesn't work as well due to it being in 3D. I liked it in general but I found myself going "that's clever" instead of "wow, this is great." I'll still get it though, my one and only 3DS game (Ocarina, naturally) looks pretty lonely on the shelf. I just wish Nintendo would do a traditional 2D Mario platformer again but with 2D graphics and sprites. I'd even settle for a 16 bit feel. For all the innovation they are capable of, I sort of want them to go back to basics.

*Facepalm at random lolz and stupidity in comments* Anyways, awesome to know this game is awesome! I cant wait for Sunday!

When DOESNT a game reuse elements, you can say every game this year and last year Reused elements from past games. Mario technically the only one to reuse them in a refreshing way for 25 years while still making them star games, the gameplay in this game is already Innovating as its a fusion between his 2D and 3D platforming and they gave him different tricks, Your argument is invalid.

I'm fine with a run button as I'm more used to playing 2D Mario games than 3D ones so I'm sure that won't bother me. I got this pre-ordered, just a couple days to go. /rubs hands together
