Put your hands up those of you who thought that Baz Luhrmann has spent the last five years sitting on his arse in an Aussie palace, basking in the glow of his cinematic successes? Shame on you…
The Moulin Rouge helmer has been busy scribbling an epic romance that is being compared to Gone With The Wind, set against a backdrop of World War II.
The untitled flick, which will star Luhrmann favourite Nicole Kidman and kiwi Russell Crowe will begin shooting in July on a specially built set in Kimberley – a remote region of Western Australia.
Baz has put his head together with Collateral scriber Stuart Beattie, who is a fellow Australian, and the movie is thought to have been snapped up by the suits at 20th Century Fox.
