Steven Soderbergh enlists porn star for his new film

Sasha Grey will star in The Girlfriend Experience

Steven Soderbergh has cast porn star Sasha Grey in his low-budget drama The Girlfriend Experience.

Variety has it that Grey will play a high-class prostitute in the film, which is now shooting in New York and was written by the Ocean’s 13 team of Brian Koppelman and David Levien.

Unless you’ve watched lots of XXX films (we know who you are), you may not know Sasha Grey, but she’s been an adult movie stalwart since she was 18.

Canadian horror experience

Non porn-watchers might know her from the small indie movie Quit and the Canadian horror Smash Cut.

"To have the opportunity to work for an Academy Award-winning auteur is truly a great honour," Grey says. "I've been an admirer of Soderbergh's films for years, and I am elated that I have been given a leading role in a character-driven film."
