Stephen Chow officially off Green Hornet

Looks like the rumours that Stephen Chow has decided not to be involved with Green Hornet are true.

Ain't It Cool got a statement from Sony acknowledging there has been a parting of ways.

"There was a mutual and amicable decision by both sides to move on. We are out now to cast a new Kato and remain fully committed to Michel Gondry's exciting vision for the film, which will begin production this September."

Chow had originally been attached to direct and star as Kato, the Hornet's trusty, ass-smashing side-kick, but recently his schedule has seemed too packed for him to stay on board.

So now the film needs a new Hornet. Might Tony Jaa fill his place? Or perhaps a young, undiscovered martial arts talent waiting for that big break...

Sorry to see Chow go? Who could take his place? Suggestions, please...
