See a wrecked Star Destroyer close-up in Star Wars' new 360 video

Care for a sunny ride past the old Star Destroyer ruins? The latest video for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a breezy tour of the Jakku desert, and it even lets you pan around 360 degrees and take in whatever wreckage (or fellow riders) catch your fancy.

The official Star Wars Facebook page posted the cool new video (watch below), and confirmed that it takes place on the back of main character Rey's speeder bike. The scavenger herself is nowhere to be seen, though you can hear the familiar chirps and babbling of a certain spheroid Astromech droid near the end.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits US cinemas on December 18 and is released in the UK on December 17. If you want to see how that Star Destroyer ended up half buried in sand dunes, you can play the Battle of Jakku DLC in Star Wars Battlefront, which EA will release for free on December 8 or December 1 if you pre-order.

Speed across the Jakku desert from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with this immersive 360 experience created exclusively for Facebook.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
