Considering the news that "Dice begged", i wouldnt be surprised if they did most of these. Here's to them doing a great job

    Hear, hear!

What would be awesome would be like what madden use to do. Have like actual famous star wars battle and kind of rewrite history of stars wars if you want. For the jedi thing; keep them in, but all up amounts of people so that the jedi's don't get too crazy. Also, what would be cool is that every person has perks to become not only a jedi, but a hero like han. If you reach a certain amount of points you become a hero. That's what would be awesome

That's exactly what Battlefront 2 did....
  • brendan-sullivan - June 28, 2013 7:07 p.m.

they did, but there should be like a story line where you can choose good or bad. There's then cut screen clips that show what happens when history changes. Taking about the perks, I meant the fact that you can reduce amount of times people are Jedi's so it's fare. in Battlefront it was only like once or twice you can become a hero.

I completely disagree with taking Jedi out of the game. That was one of the things that made Battlefront 2 so awesome.

I just hope that it's still third person.
  • brendan-sullivan - June 26, 2013 9:49 p.m.

    we can only hope.

Another suggestion for a hero unit would be a clone/imperial commando, I love playing as them in the BFX mod for battlefront 2
  • mothbanquet - June 27, 2013 1:05 a.m.

Playing as one of the Republic Commandos from the classic game of the same name would be awesome.
  • Doctalen - June 27, 2013 9:45 a.m.

That would be amazing, hell I'd be happy with just some generic commandos. But of we could play as members of delta, that would be awesome.

And lead to many a broken friendship over who gets to play Sev, no doubt.

Oh. Oh goodness. The frantic joy of Battlefront, the multiplayer slickness, balance and attention to detail of Battlefield 3, the incredible scope of the new Frostbite engine and the authentic space savagery of the classic TIE Fighter and X-Wing games. This could be the best thing to happen to humans. I'm almost scared at how exciting this could be. Please, please make this happen.

i really enjoyed having the jedi and sith in BF2, i thought it added a lot to the game. it was pretty well balanced, and can serve as a nice reward for good play. if you didn't know what you were doing, you would get taken down instantly. why not force the player to manually block blaster fire, making it intensely skill based? maybe at certain intervals (like when rush points shift), you pit the best players on each side against each other in one on one hero battles to determine small bonuses for the winning side? if the issue is balance, i think the BF2 model worked pretty well, all dice would need to do is a few tweaks. i'd rather be participating in a facsimile of the opening cinematic in old republic than republic commando. of course, you'd keep the hero v hero game mode, but that needs more fleshing out than the simplistic one map cluster fuck that BF2 provided. ooh! and please give us some form of the bespin levels from BF1! they were my favorites (that hallway chokepoint was legendary!), and were sorely missed in BF2.

Agreed on all counts! The hero units would have to force teamwork on the opposing side to take them down. I remember a few friends and I were able to work wonders whenever Mace or Vader showed up, just through careful positioning and co-ordination. Rewarding stuff.

I want customization for your solider and your ships, if there was to be a dedicated space fights mode that is. Still, this sounds amazing and although you have to respect when a legion of soldiers in white battle armor are approaching, it would be nice for some customization.

All good additions, and PCG had a good wish about integrating both Jedi and Infantry, yet make Jedi as vulnerable as you'd expect when facing. Or make them take skill, I guess. But really, even if they don't make stellar lightsaber combat, let's leave it to successor or sequel to Jedi Outcast. Please. :(
  • avantguardian - June 26, 2013 4:45 p.m.

why is it so hard for people to consistently do the lightsaber correctly? we've already seen how well it can be done. nothing discredits a star wars game faster than having to hit something ten times with a saber (while managing to not dismember anything).
  • ultimatepunchrod - June 26, 2013 3:33 p.m.

Really agree with all guns no lightsabers. Playing as Jedi and Sith is fun, but only if they're relegated to a map on their own. There's nothing more annoying that doing really well and then having Darth Vader come out of nowhere and kill you in one hit.
  • Leemundo - June 26, 2013 4:14 p.m.

Star Wars without lightsaber?! Did you just suggest that?! What if it was just tide turner for the losing side to get back not the game?! What happens in COD when a team is dominating, they are 'awarded' even better equipment to help them win. Surely the dream of Star Wars was being an all powerful Jedi wielding a lightsaber? A lightsaber only mode would nullify the point of a Jedi.
  • ultimatepunchrod - June 26, 2013 6:56 p.m.

Or like the article suggests, do a Jedi only match type.
