Star Wars: Battlefront set for summer 2015

The new Star Wars: Battlefront from DICE is set to launch around the same time as Star Wars: Episode VII. Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen announced the target for the long-awaited multiplayer battle game in the publisher's annual stockholder meeting.

"This will most likely come out around the same time that the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of 2015," Blake said.

Jorgenson said Battlefront is the first game EA's focusing on in its five-year deal with Disney, so don't expect to see many Star Wars games show up on consoles until then. DICE was pretty excited to get going on the Battlefield-inspired franchise, so we're excited too.

Pardon me while I don't believe it will release until 2016. Or that it won't be as good as the Battlefront 2. One or the other. Mind you, I'm not arbitrarily choosing to hate the game, I'm just saying that would be FAST.

"Multiplayer battle game", "Battlefield-inspired" - so are they not going to make it like the originals. They were the a couple of the best games for PS2, but if you can't play single player, story mode or assault mode or whatever it was called then this game will be rubbish. Still looking forward to it, but they better not go Titanfall on it.

Well you have to remember it played the same single or multiplayer so I am not worried myself.

lmao, what kind of complaint is this? Of course it's battlefield-inspired, the first games were basically Battlefield with a star wars skin pack. You must think Battlefield and Call of Duty are interchangable

My point was that I don't want it to be always online and so that I have to play against other people, following a story, not just loads of identical multiplayer matches. I want it to be like the originals where it's just me and some computers. Also, yes, CoD and Battlefield are interchangeable; I've played both for a number of years and they're exactly the same underneath. FPSs with focus on multiplayer. I didn't see much difference between MW3 and BF3, to be honest.

I mean *I want it to follow a story and not just have loads of identical multiplayer matches. (I put that bit in in the wrong place).
