Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Weekly - Episode 14: Levolution, Star Wars style

So, there's this game that came out. You might have heard of it. It's called Battlefield 4. Yeah, Greg and I have been playing a whole lot of it. W e're having a great time blowing up walls, destroying skyscrapers, and shooting helicopters out of the sky, but then that got us thinking. What would BF4's levolution be like in a Star Wars game--namely Battlefront? Well, this week we explore those possibilities.

Imagine fighting on nar shadaa, coruscant, Naboo or any densely populated system, and suddenly an orbital bombardment comes down and buildings become engulfed in light and flames.

I'd love to see the Naboo Palace come crumbling down. And the mile-high skyscrapers on Coruscant. And large-scale deforestation on Endor. And avalanches on Hoth. Oh God, I can't take it. I'm putting myself in a coma till this games comes out...

I'm not sure if this is possible, go easy on me. Ok, so you're fighting in Mos Eisley. All of a sudden the ground starts to shake. Earthquake, right? The street cracks open, buildings crumble, objects begin to sink into the sand. A massive dormant Sarlacc rears it's ugly head! A large portion of the map is now cut off by this hazard.

That would be pretty sweet. Especially if an AT-ST were standing over it at the time...

Arena beast, who doesn't like working with animals?

Provided I don't have to work for Jabba (there's not a lot of job stability in the Hutt's Palace), I'd totally want to be a Rancor trainer. There are a lot of beasts out there in the Star Wars universe (banthas, nerfs, gundarks, acklays), but two stand alone as threats that not even a Jedi Master would want to face: Rancors and Krayt Dragons. A Rancor would make mincemeat of the arena beasts, are tough enough that hand blasters are useless against them, and can be quite friendly to their trainer. Plus, you'd look like a total badass riding around on a Rancor's shoulders; nobody in their right mind would mess with you if you've got a Rancor.

I'd choose arena beast, no contest. A single rancor looks kind of ugly, it's basically a troll. As for levolutions, I can only imagine something where the environment is an area super strong in the force, so a force related cataclysmic event would be cool I guess. If you were on Manann or Kamino and you were fighting on a station/city, a massive undersea earthquake could destabilize the city and completely submerge it, and everyone would have to put on underwater suits for fighting and jetting around in the water in the submerged corridors and whatnot, and you could get in underwater vehicles and have undersea vehicular combat around the city as teams fight it out in submerged corridors. Or maybe they could say a sith lord like Darth Nihilus (who is basically a spirit connected to the physical world via his special mask because his hunger for force/life energy is so strong it consumed him I think) is on a battleship above a planet filled with wildlife and just dominated by nature. At a certain point, his hunger gets so great that, just like in KOTOR II, he drains the life/force energy from the whole planet, and everyone's health starts dropping slowly and all the nature around you just starts to decay, wilt, and die, with giant animals and plants just withering away and collapsing all over the place, even the ground would shrivel up and die. The sky would start to crackle with lightning and strong weather effects from the influence of the sith lord. I'm sure they have something amazing in mind though, I can't wait to see what they've got in store for this game.

Correction : the kamino/manann quake is not force related, that's just nature related. Also, the map could be of the Sith lord tombs on korriban, and the tombs could start to cave in and the whole cave network could reform, completely changing the map. There'd also be a pair of those monsters from KOTOR in there slumbering somewhere, those fucking ridiculous to kill things. Ok I just looked it up, terentateks. Or maybe the ghosts of the old sith lords would awaken from all the disturbance and start to wreak havoc on both sides. If the map was a compound on tattoine I guess there could be a massive sandstorm or something. And yes, it might be obvious that I just really love the KOTOR's and that's where most of my star wars knowledge lies.
