Star Wars Battlefront 3 Weekly: Ep 5 - What DICE can learn from First Assault

Just before LucasArts was taken over by Disney, Battlefront fans were teased with a leaked Star Wars title that seemed to mimic the gameplay of the much anticipated series. The game, Star Wars: First Assault, was cancelled after the Disney acquisition, but we got to see a glimpse of what the developers were working on in leaked gameplay footage. What ideas should (or shouldn't) DICE take from the lost shooter? Greg and Lorenzo discuss that exact topic in this episode.

While it would be badass to be a bounty hunter, realistically I'd probably be a better smuggler.

Smuggler definitely, I'm basically a dragon when it comes to games with money in them, I get all the rarest stuff and all the money and just hoard it all. I never play an rpg without making a stealth/stealing kind of character.

I'd rather be a Bounty Hunter, because a lot of the time they're actually the good guys. Smugglers are busy supplying people with Glitterstim and illegal weaponry while the Bounty Hunters are tracking down dangerous criminals. I'd be a hero! And it's not a video game, but for people who like Star Wars, especially the stuff with smugglers and bounty hunters, you should totally check out the Edge of the Empire pen and paper roleplaying game from Fantasy Flight. I ran a few adventures in it with my old gaming group and we had a ton of fun.

A hero? For the Empire maybe. Who do you think puts bounties on people's heads? The Empire. Who do you think you'll be sent after more, criminals or rebels? Rebels. That illegal weaponry was going to be used to fight the empire. Instead you decided to aid the crime lord Jabba the Hut and further hinder the freedom seeking rebels. You scum. Smuggler all the way. Down with the Empire. (My response only works if this takes place within the original trilogy, so I say it does...)

Not everyone the Empire considers a criminal is doing it for the Rebellion. Han Solo was a smuggler, but until he chanced into the Rebellion, he smuggled drugs for a crime lord: he was not a good person. Those illegal weapons are probably just as likely to end up in the hands of Black Sun or various Hutt private armies as they are the Rebellion. As a bounty hunter, I'll be hunting down murderers like Pondo Baba and Dr. Evazan and bringing them to justice. Bounty Hunters aren't owned by the Empire, they work for hire and get to choose which jobs they'll take. I don't need to hunt down Rebels if I don't want to.

I'd rather be a smuggler. Access to the best food, alcohol, clothes,. Watch out gentlemen, 'when I'm out for sex, I don't let blood and money get int the way ;)

I'm pretty sure if I was in a real fight I would break down crying immediately, which seems like less of a problem for smugglers.

Bounty Hunter no doubt. Then I could hunt the greatest game of all.... jedi.
