Scarygirl, the comic and toy
line that's also the basis for a popular Flash game, is bound for
consoles and computers in a new platform adventure title distributed
by Square Enix. TikGames, developer of last year's PSN-only Dr Maybee
and the Adventures of Scarygirl, is readying the title for release
later this month.
Scarygirl, who's sort of
like a female cross between The Binding of Isaac and those Kidrobot
toys you've always meant to start collecting, goes 2.5D in the new
platformer, as well as a 1.5 player mode (is that a term? It should
be) in the style of Sonic 2 or Mario Galaxy. The game's being
released in the leadup to a planned feature film, and will feature
an extra chapter not present in the movie or the original comic
books. The title releases 1/18 on XBLA and 1/24 on PSN, with a PC
version due within the first quarter of 2012.
