Splinter Cell fan film looks good enough to be a big-screen movie

Ubisoft's Splinter Cell franchise has gone into hiding for the past few years, but its fans are still very much active. Case in point: the folks over at Atomic Productions have gone ahead and created a fan film starring ultra-spy Sam Fisher, and the first trailer is slick enough to make me wonder why it's taking Hollywood so long to make this into a big-budget thriller.

As you may have noticed, this trailer is for a film called "The Splinter Cell: Part 2." If you're curious about what happens in Part 1, check out Atomic's 2014 creation, The Splinter Cell - and don't worry, you won't have to set aside much time, as the original film is just 9 minutes long. The Splinter Cell: Part 2 will debut in full later this summer and be roughly 30 minutes long.

Both films take place before the first game, which debuted in 2002. Good ol' Sam has been with us for quite some time, hasn't he?
