SoundRadar Episode 7 - Bastion with Supergiant Games

The award-winning indie game Bastion has been on our radar since it was showcased at PAX in 2010. Supergiant Games is comprised of a small team of developers who left their big corporate jobs behind and decided to devote all their attention, love and time to Bastion. Their efforts paid off, as Bastion has gone on to sell more than 500,000 copies and has won more than 100 awards.

One of the game's standout features (other than the gorgeous visuals) is the eclectic soundtrack, composed by Darren Korb. The soundtrack can be purchased digitally or if you prefer a hard copy, check out the store at Supergiant Games' website. We have several codes to giveaway so tune in for a chance to win!

The Host and Guests

The Content

Former Editor-in-chief at GameSpot Greg Kasavin is finally living his childhood dream of creating, designing, and writing his own videogame. Composer and audio director Darren Korb is still stunned by the reaction to his soundtrack, but it gave him the opportunity to stand next to Hulk Hogan at the Spike VGA awards. We learn that Logan was solely doing his friend a favor by taking on the role of Rucks, but it turns out that this project was all much bigger than they had all imagined.

Note: There's something at the very end of the podcast....

The trivia question this week is narrated by Rucks himself, so tune in and let us know the answer by emailing Good luck!

I've been listening to the Bastion soundtrack for a month now and still haven't got tired of it. Excellent game with excellent music.

I Listened "Setting Sail, Coming Home" upon you guys showing a sample of it in the 2011 recap, and i was floored. That song, even without playing the game, is beautiful, mesmerizing and haunting all at the same time. And now we have a podcast of the entire soundtrack! this pleases me greatly! Thanks once again for a great show Sophia! Also, I really do owe you a big apology for criticizing your initial choices for the podcast, I've now indeed seen that everything's being tackled here, from big, massive orchestral compositions to small, melodic music, and I am really appreciating every single one of them (:
