SEGA's Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be hitting the Wii U this year, beating Mario's kart racer to the track by a good amount of time. We enjoyed the last game in 2010, but were interested to see how this sequel would fare on the Wii U. So far? Well, there are some issues--check out the video to see what we mean.

There's still time left to polish up some of the problems, but right now we're not totally sure that the Wii U version is going to be the one to get. We'll let you know closer to launch if that ends up being true.

"But it's a work in progress build" - You know, as cynical as I can be when it comes to video games the one thing I don't do is criticize a game that's not a finished product. It would be like playing an MMO beta and criticizing it because it wasn't fully optimized yet.

It's the elephant in the room - the whole 'look down' at the tablet while playing has 'played' poorly on test and looks like it dose not add, but detracts, from the majority of games using this element (see ZombiU video) - also the inability for a second tablet to be added without some performance impact was a shocker. Fundamentally, Nintendo are laying on the heavy pressure to ensure that the Wii-U is received the way they want it too (with the help of the ugly face of the Nintendo fan-boys)! Would not be surprised if an official statement is released about the frame -rate issues seen on a number of games at the launch - and the avoidance of multi-play demos! Could we be looking at a accelerated release plan, as a means to get the system out there and establish the DLC avenue, before the serious issues got too much airtime?

It's not the framerate that has me worried, but that drift mechanics just look horrible, the way the car snaps right back straight. The framerate is bad thought

ew looks even worst then mario cart no thanks i perfer the adult games on xobx insted so im not bying a wiiu

I also miss Tdar. Not to be a stickler but I believe it was "Super horn". Still. Solidarity. Have you given RadioRadar a listen?
