Some Cool Sci-Fi Lots On Offer For Air New Zealand Charity Auction

To celebrate 30 years of flying between London and LA, Air New Zealand is trying to raise £30,000 for children's charity Phab.

To do this, the company has set up a charity auction with some items donated by their more famous and influential frequent fliers, and a few of the lots have an SFX flavour.

So while you'll need to be flush to make a bid, we thought we’d bring them to your attention:

• The team at Lucasfilm has donated an amazing high-end replica of Yoda’s lightsaber as featured in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones . Master Replicas' VP of Product Development, Steve Dymszo, originally produced the lightsaber, and his model appears in the Episode I Visual Dictionary . Eventually, that design was adapted by Lucasfilm and used in Attack of the Clones . Amazingly no physical lightsaber prop was ever produced for filming because the Yoda character and his lightsaber were both completely computer generated for the first time ever in a Star Wars movie. This is your chance to own a Star Wars collectable signed by the legendary George Lucas .

• A special movie studio tour that takes in both the Warner Brothers VIP Deluxe Tour in Hollywood and the Weta Workshop in Wellington, New Zealand. Air New Zealand is including flights for two from London to Los Angeles and onward to Wellington to help get you there in style.

• Become a superhero! DC Comics will create an original comic illustration featuring the prize winner as a superhero surrounded by the Justice League . The artwork will be designed into a faux DC Comics comic book front cover. The winning bidder will receive the framed original black and white art together with a full coloured and designed cover. And let’s be honest how cool is that?! So BID NOW!

• A guided tour around Pinewood Studios , which normally isn’t open to the public.
