No Man's Sky dev promises 'free updates to expand the universe', says 'this is only the beginning'

It might feel like No Man's Sky's cooled off a bit since it's release but developer Hello Games is reiterating its promise that this is only the beginning.

In a blog post the developer talks about listening to feedback. That's likely in response to the fallout last week from people asking for refunds, although its not explicitly mentioned. There's also mention that a community/support management team is now in place and issues are being fixed in order of priority.

The studio says that the focus is on resolving these issues but after that comes the free updates. There's already been talk of No Man's Sky adding base building and freighter ships to fly so hopefully we'll find out more soon.

The promise is that "future free updates will improve, expand and build on the No Man’s Sky universe". The studio goes on to say that "this is a labour of love for us, and it’s just the beginning".

What do you think?
