New Game of Thrones RPG screens enter the fray

Mors and Alester to swap screen time in Cyanide Studio's upcoming adaptation

Six new Game of Thrones RPG screenshots have appeared on the horizon to herald the arrival of Cyanide Studio's forthcoming A Song of Ice and Fire video game adaptation for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The shots depict the game's two main leads—Night Watch devotee Mors and the red priest Alester—in various states of combat; as well as a few familiar faces and environments plucked from George R.R. Martin's fantasy novels. As detailed in the announcement from UK publisher Focus Home Interactive, both Mors and Alester will venture forth in their own separate “chapters”, with Mors' journey taking him from his post at the Wall to King's Landing by way of the unfriendly territory known at the Gift, and Alester's travels taking him from Riverspring to the Red Keep. Much like the books upon which their adventures are based, both paths will eventually cross in a flurry of sword-play, stabbing, and possibly one or two beheadings.

Game of Thrones RPG is being developed for a spring 2012 release, with publishing duties falling to Focus Home Interactive for European fans, and Atlus North America for Western Westeros enthusiasts. Just started watching the show, it's bloody excellent. I'm really looking forward to an RPG set in that world.
