Demiurge Studios announced today that their great 2D shooter Shooter Many Robots will spawn a standalone F2P game called Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings which is based around a player-versus-player multiplayer mode.

The new mode casts players as "kings" who must steal each other's crowns (by way of murder) and flush them down one of the level's magical teleport toilets. No release date for the title has yet been announced, however beta sign-ups are available now, though we don't know when the beta will start either.

As this is a free-to-play title, it will likely be supported by character customization tools purchased via the Steam Store, however Demiurge has not confirmed that yet.

Check out our mini-gallery above for a brace of quick screenshots, and check out our review of the fun original game.
