Sherlock's Jonathan Aris is joining Star Wars: Rogue One

Following a spot of online sleuthing, the identity of another Star Wars cast member has been revealed. Jonathan Aris, who you may recognise from his turn as forensic scientist Philip Anderson on Sherlock, is joining the first anthology movie Rogue One.

BBC News uncovered the information after noticing a new entry on Aris' Spotlight resume - an online actors database - listing him as Senator Jebel in the forthcoming movie. It has since been removed, but you can check out a screen cap of his credits below:

If Aris does suit up to play the Senator, he'll be expected on set soon. Director Gareth Edwards is gearing up to begin principal photography in London, with Felicity Jones in the lead role as a rebel soldier. Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, Sam Claflin and Diego Luna are all rumored for parts with nothing officially confirmed yet by Lucasfilm.

Rogue One takes place between Episode III and IV and follows a band of rebel soldiers who steal plans to the Death Star. It arrives in theaters on December 16, 2016.
