Sharon Stone to join Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story

Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story has received a dose of welcome star-power, with the announcement that Sharon Stone has signed on to play Lovelace's mother.

One of two Lovelace biopics currently in production, Inferno will star Malin Akerman as the former porn star turned feminist campaigner, with Your Name Here helmer Matthew Wilder in place to direct.

Matt Dillon will play husband Chuck Traynor, whilst Lost star Harold Perrineau and real-life porn actress Sasha Grey are also set to appear.

Lovelace was famed for her performance in pornographic classis Deep Throat , before later claiming that she was forced into the world of adult entertainment by her abusive husband.

Wilder's version of the story will be in direct competition with Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's Lovelace , which has Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard attached to the leading roles.

Stone will add a bit of clout to the cast of Inferno , before beginning work on The Mule , Gabriela Taglievini's drama set against the backdrop of people-smuggling between Mexico and the US.

Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story is expected to arrive in 2012.
