We always like it when someone does something a little different. So we’re stomping our feet in appreciation of Slingshot Productions...
The all-digital film company has announced it will begin shooting its debut feature, Sugarhouse Lane, on the 21 August, just six months after the first meeting on the project took place.
Featuring King Kong favourite Andy Serkis, Bullet Boy Ashley Walters and Underworld: Evolution thesp Steven Mackintosh, the movie centres on disillusioned city boy Tom (Mackintosh) who strikes up a curious alliance with crack addict D (Walters).
Both men end up running for their lives from crime boss and all round nasty piece of work, Hoodwink (Serkis), who runs the backstreets of London with his own brand of fear and ruthlessness.
Waking The Dead actor Gary Love takes up the megaphone for his feature film debut, working from a script scribbled by Dominic Leyton and based on his stage play Collision.
Sugarhouse Lane is the first of ten low budget flicks planned by Slingshot over the next three years and you can follow the project's progress at the official site , which goes live on 21 August.
