Scrolls 'Making-Of' documentary talks trademark troubles and life after Minecraft

Now that Mojang Studios has been given the go-ahead by Swedish courts to continue using 'Scrolls' as the name of its upcoming fantasy card game without facing repercussions from Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax, the indie studio can focus on what really matters: actually making the game. See how it's coming along – and what it's like to live under the shadow of Minecraft – in part one of this newly released 'Making-Of' documentary.

The doc is a spin-off of 2PlayerProductions' Minecraft documentary, and follows Mojang co-founder Jakob Porser as he and his team attempt to make Mojang known for something else besides its insanely popular build-it-yourself block game.

“Honestly, I don't think we're ever going to make a game that's going to be as good and gets [as much] positive feedback much as Minecraft did,” says Porser. “Minecraft is not just a great game, it's a Cinderella story. Even if we did the world's best game after Minecraft, it's not going to be a Cinderella story.”

The video was actually shot some time ago, but the recent legal battle with Bethesda held back its official release until now. If you like what you see, keep an eye on 2PlayerProductions' YouTube page for future continuations.
