Scott goes to Reykjavik

For a while now, Ridley Scott has been mulling an as-yet-untitled film about the 1986 Reykjavik summit that was held between US president Ronald Reagan and Russian premier Mikhail Gorbachev, which went a long way to ending the cold war.

While he hasn’t actually decided if he’ll step behind the camera yet, he’s definitely intent on getting the script made and out into cinemas by early next year. "These are fascinating historical characters, larger-than-life figures, but I want to show who they were and why they did what they did," Scott told The Hollywood Reporter. "Their actions helped shape history, paving the way for the end of the Cold War."

If he doesn’t take the job, his brother Tony could always do it, with 15 different types of lens filter and Gorbachev’s famous birthmark exploding at the end. Or maybe not. Check the Hollywood Reporter for the full story .
