Savages nabs Uma Thurman and John Travolta

Oliver Stone’s adaptation of the novel Savages has landed three big names in the form of Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Blake Lively.

Lively in particular comes as a last minute surprise, as she was recently having to choose between Savages and playing Glinda the Good Witch in Oz: The Great And Powerful .

Lucky for us, the Gossip Girl and The Town star has opted for Stone’s film. Considering it’s already got a cast that includes Aaron Johnson, Salma Hayek, Taylor Kitsch and Benicio Del Toro, it’s not difficult to see why.

Following a duo of weed growers (Kitsch and Johnson), the film follows their problems when they have a run in with a Mexican drug cartel (Hayek and Del Toro).

Lively will play Ophelia, the guys’ accomplice who is kidnapped and held for ransom, while Thurman stars as her mother Paqu.

With Travolta playing DEA agent Dennis, this will be the actor's first time starring opposite Thurman since 2005’s Be Cool . We can only hope they’re able to recapture the genius of their first film tango together in Pulp Fiction .
