Rock Band 4 coming to Xbox One and PS4, plans to support last-gen peripherals and DLC

At GDC 2015, Harmonix project manager Daniel Sussman announced that Rock Band 4 is in development and scheduled for release on PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

"The rumors are true," Sussman said. "We've been working on Rock Band 4 for a while, and there's been a lot of verbiage from the company saying 'Oh, we'll bring [Rock Band] back when we think the time is right.' And now, we think the time is right." Sussman went on to state that Rock Band 4 is being designed to accommodate previous Rock Band peripherals and DLC purchases, and will be the Rock Band game for this generation of consoles. This announcement follows in the wake of Harmonix's most-recent release, Fantasia: Music Evolved, which Sussman said inspired the team to think more about allowing for self-expression in their games. The developer is currently working on their reboot of Amplitude as well, which is also slated for release later this year.
