First look at Rhys Ifans in The Amazing Spider-man

A new image from the set of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man has revealed a first look at Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curtis Connors.

As all fan boys know, Dr. Connors is the scientist who becomes Spider-Man's enemy, The Lizard, when an experiment to re-grow his arm goes horribly wrong.

Recently played by Dylan Baker in 2007's poorly-received Spider-Man 3 , The Lizard has had little action on screen, and Webb's film will require extensive CGI for the character.

Ifans (pictured here with Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker) is wearing a green glove over his hand which will be removed in post-production; just a taster of good things to come.

A dream cast includes Sally Field and Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Aunt May respectively, while up-and-coming actress Emma Stone has bagged the role of Gwen Stacey.

The Amazing Spider-Man is released in the UK on 3rd July 2012, and will be in 3D.
