Resident Evil 5 Strategy guide and Boss guide

Acts 1 and 2Acts 3 and 4 | Act 5 | Act 6

ACT 6
Smell that sea breeze. Chris and Sheva chase Wesker onto a container ship, where his monstrous plan begins to unfold. Can you stop him in time? It’s tricky, but possible.

FEELING CAGEY

When Sheva’s trapped in a cage a new freak will attack you. It’s a duvalia, and it’s extremely tough. Ignore the giant ball because you’ll inflict zero damage; instead target the tangle of ribs by its left leg to harm it. Alternatively, a single flash grenade will knock it out and expose its fleshy interior for some easy killing. (And who said the flash grenades were useless?)

Once it’s dead you can collect its keycard and rescue Sheva. You’ll need to reach the crane’s controls to do this, and to get there you’ll have to raise the nearby container by shooting the conveniently flashing green panel up high. Do that and you’ll be able to come to her aid.

THE END IS NIGH

This is the last scrap before you fight the end boss:

Two bugs appear as soon as you open the second blast doors. Quickly take them out with a magnum to the belly before chaingun majini arrive.

When the gunners appear drop down into the left trench and leap the gap. Now climb the left ladder to find an extremely useful gatling gun.

Jump on and you’ll have enough time to kill one of the gunners, which makes life much, much easier for everyone concerned. Apart from them, of course. Tell Sheva to take over the gun controls and go fetch the keycard from the first gunner. The aim here is to lure the second gunner into the open.

If the gunner chases Sheva things are a little tougher. Instruct her to fall back and fire from the main platform. When he’s near enough you can return to the turret if needs be though.

WEAPON WATCH
This act’s most powerful weapons:

Shotgun

- After entering the ship you’ll go down a large stairwell. The shotgun’s on the bottom deck, right in the middle

Rocket Launcher

- The rocket launcher’s behind glass in the darkest corner. Look at the plane: it’ll be behind you on your right.

BOSS GUIDE: UROBOROS AHERI
Did Excella listen? Of course not! Instead she morphs into this freakazoid, and you’ve got to put her down:

After the initial quick-time events she’ll have more than doubled in size. See those yellow bulbous growths? Yep, they’re your targets

Use the keycard on the panel opposite what was Excella to get the laser device. Now climb one of the nearby ladders and start shooting

You need to ‘paint’ a weak point for about three seconds before the laser kicks in. If the arm swings at you release LT and hit X (360) or square (PS3) to duck

After each successful hit the monster spits out small worm sacks. Ditch your laser and take them out quickly with your shotgun

When the smaller growths are down the main one will be revealed. Hit this and prepare to do it all again. And again. She does die eventually. Promise!

BOSS GUIDE: ALBERT WESKER PART 1
Thirteen years of Resident Evil lore have built up to this moment: Chris Redfield vs Albert Wesker, the final battle. Er, part one, that is!

Throw the three levers in the arena’s corners to turn off all the lights and fire a rocket (see ‘Weapon Watch’ above for the rocket launcher) at him

Pull out your handgun and shoot the rocket in Wesker’s hands. It’ll explode in his face, giving you ample time to run in and grab him

If you miss with the rocket there are more rounds two floors up. We found it easier to grab the round ourselves rather than waiting for Sheva to pick one up

If Albert picks up a missile you’re in trouble. Start running, and don’t stop until there’s something big between you and him

Run up to Wesker when he’s startled and hammer X (360) or square (PS3) to hold him steady. Sheva should inject him to end the fight. If not, just repeat the attack again.

BOSS GUIDE: ALBERT WESKER PART 2
Resident Evil 5’s nod to the infamous Krauser knife fight.

Nothing too tricky here. Hold the pad so that you can hit the face buttons, waggle the left stick and pull the triggers all at a moment’s notice. Pay attention to the cutscene and you should breeze through.

BOSS GUIDE: ALBERT WESKER PART 3
You’ve made it to the final challenge! We hope you’ve stocked up on ammo, though:

Firstly, just turn tail and run. Take the left path at the fork and equip the shotgun. Now shoot the two light-coloured rocks to help later on

Turn around and you’ll see Wesker following the path you took. Shoot his glowing back and he’ll leap off the platform and stalk Sheva instead

Start shooting Wesker when Sheva tells you to do so. Once she’s recovered it’s time to save her by beating up a boulder; stick-twirling and all

You’re at the last stage now. When Wesker raises his right arm up high run in close and shoot his back. The wound will close up and Wesker will unleash a whirlwind attack. Make sure you step back before he does, otherwise it’s game over. You’re almost there

Brilliantly that move will then expose his front. Shoot that until the Uroboros protects him and then wait for him to raise his arm once more

That’s all there is to it. Keep following that pattern (keep back after the whirlwind attack because he’ll occasionally pound the ground too) to win

The lava doesn’t quite kill him, but one final QTE in the helicopter will do. RIP Wesker – one of gaming’s greatest ever characters

Another RE game after this would kinda be umm weird. I mean you killed the Wesker clone umbrella is f*cked over now what? Be like Final Fantasy and do what happened before RE and play as Umbrella Corp instead of BSAA? Im not saying it would be bad I'm just saying what else is there to add really? Im only at the part with the native guys.

Ok guys Im new so what up To the point Im not good at english but I going to try.... I know a really easy way to kill Wesker at the volcano, it took me less than 5 minutes on veterans mode which is the third level cause once you beat the game on that level it comes a harder level. Anyway, here I go When you hit the rock so Sheva can jump to get to high groud Wesker follows you, he rise his arm, we all know that, we also know that we have to hit his back so he can show the orange thing on his chest. I hope that you guy can understand me..... When he shows that orange thing on his chest his going to walk towards you, shoot the orange thing till he looks hurt I mean he is not going to move get close to him and the circle button will show up on the screen this is on PS3 Chris will jump to weskers back and he is going to ask Sheva to shoot the orange thing Sheva is going to say that she cant shoot that thing unless she shoots through Chris too so instead of that I dont know what options you have as Sheva but she uses her knif and start to slash wesker if you do that correctly Chris is going to jump to the ground and slash his back too and there his dead Sorry for my english I hope that you guy understand me please if you have any questions or you kill wesker the way I did please I beg Send me a mail to this margaritaarmendariz@hotmail.com

its ok in scarinest i guess ive bout beat it
  • MrDanHalen - March 26, 2009 6:26 p.m.

OK 2 things to add. 1) you can do more damage to Jill by having Chris/Sheva hold her while the other shoots the device on her chest... takes 4 tries instead of 8 2) Wesker is a clone (the whole wesker family are just clones).... just because he looks dead, does not mean he's gone forever.

@phoenix_wing: your name alone suggests "the return". I seriously hope that the RE series continues on into the distant future. Just want them to bring actual ZOMBIES back to the series... Maybe a 2 player CO-OP S.T.A.R.S mansion/underground facility revisited.
  • Nefarious1 - March 24, 2009 12:53 a.m.

young gamers...remember, a very high percentage of RE is preparation, timing and alot of hand cannon recoil. 1st thing I would suggest to all who are having problems with Bosses and such is to MAX out your Magnums. Very few baddies can stand a blast from one of them let alone two (head) shots. Hit those missions hard, sit back, relax and push the limits of the game...you'd be suprised at what u can get away with when u get in close enough to most baddies. Beating the game in -5 hours is very reasonable once you've learned your enemies "comfort zones".

"(ignore Chainsaw No 2)" Ugh, easier said than done. And what about the third chainsaw guy that comes when you're covering Josh? God I hate them!
  • phoenix_wings - March 17, 2009 7:19 a.m.

I surprisingly didn't have too much difficulty with the bosses. Unfortunately, I didn't know that you could just run around and not blow through all of your ammo on Wesker...I should have read the guide first. Lesson learned. RIP Wesker...I've got to say that the best way to go would have to be in a volcano...I really hope he didn't make a clone of himself or something. Don't get me wrong, I love the RE series, it's just that I think it's time to close the book on this iconic series. And of course the reCaptcha is Continued Dalai
  • HorrorGod - March 17, 2009 6:16 a.m.

I just beat RE5 today. As a fan of the series (Resident Evil 1 was the reason I bought a Playstation in '96) I have to say I think this was the best one yet. It was nice that it came back to the original characters that started it all. (After Leon got his own game with 4) Anyway, I just wanted to add to the tips and let everyone know you can defeat Wesker in the end with just a QTE. After you beat up the rock and have Sheva join you, you will have the last battle with Wesker in the middle of the circle area. DON'T RUN AWAY. I was screwed on ammo on this point and I could NOT beat him. I would shoot and shoot until his weak spot would show, and I'd shoot more, until my guns went "click". Finally I just ran up to him to see if I could do a QTE (when his weak spot was visible on his chest) and it allowed me to have a QTE. I held him down and Sheva began slashing away with her knife. BOOM, he was down and out. MUCH easier than what other people have been saying on forums (about stocking up on ammo and blasting it.) Hope this helps anyone who may be stuck at this part.

  • Diamondis - March 16, 2009 1:54 p.m.

As soon as I saw Wesker in the trailers for this game I was upset. Not because I don't like Wesker, because I do... But because I knew he would be the last boss and die =( R.I.P Wekser.

  • GigaBowser12 - March 13, 2009 9 p.m.

    *Sniffle* RIP Wesker....
  • oryandymackie - March 13, 2009 4:59 p.m.

If only there were Regenerators in this, that would make this game complete. Disturbing in the jail in RE4 when it lurches slowly towards you down the long corridor.
