Joystiq PlayStation: "Not too long ago, we reported that a WipEout Pulse port was rumored to hit the PS2. Back then it was still intangible gossip; however now, there is substantial evidence that such a title is indeed in the works. German ratings board USK (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle) has this PS2 port listed down in its database -- the record of which can be seen embedded in the image above.

With this sort of evidence, we can only deduce that Sony has interest in bringing out the PS2 title but this does not necessarily mean the company will actually do so. Also, without any reciprocal rating on North America's ESRB, the PS2 WipEout title may never leave Europe -- that is, if it gets off the ground in the first place."
Jan 3, 2008

While you were opening gifts and drinking yourself into oblivion, we spent the holiday break burning through a recent build of Wipeout Pulse for PSP, which wraps a mighty single-player campaign around the core of 2005's brilliant Wipeout Pure and adds much-desired online play. And though Europe's been rocking the final game since before Christmas, we have some new impressions of what to expect from the North American release this ...

"Hi everyone, I thought I'd say a quick hello before the start of the Holiday Season. We've been pretty busy here trying to iron out a couple of gameplay issues, and making sure that we provide a fantastic game experience for all of our consumers. We really do feel that this is by far the best of the wipEout games to be released thus far on the PSP and it won't be too long before you all get your hands on the product."
Dec 4, 2007 By now it must be more difficult to bugger up a WipEout game than to get one right. PSP launch title WipEout Pure perfected the anti-gravity ship racing to such an extent that Pulse can only evolve the series with more tracks, ships, weapons and extras. If its a revolution you want, then were afraid youre looking in the wrong place. So whats new? ...

Here's some news on Wipeout Pulse.

"Hello everybody - I'm the SCEA Producer for wipEout PULSE on the PSP. I just wanted to give you a quick update on what's currently happening with the franchise from the very talented SCEE Liverpool wipEout team.

I want you guys and gals out there to know that this will be the biggest installment of the wipEout franchise to be released to date on the PSP.

There are some screenshots below that I'd like you all to see, it will be interesting to know what your thoughts are.

We plan on having a specific website available that will allow everyone world-wide to have access to in order to get different information regarding the different tracks that are available. Also, we will have a unique ship customization tool that will be available for the first time in the wipEout franchise on the PSP. Players will be able to design their own skins, logos and basically give their ship its own unique identity.

We're currently in some of the final stages of development, and I'll be back in a couple of weeks to update you all with regards to some more of the cool features that will be available, and also news on the 8-player Infrastructure Mode."
