As we all sit back down (or stand back up, whatever the case may be) for another work week, there are few things that can wash away the sad feeling of another weekend lost forever - except, perhaps, just maybe... new Sonic Rivals screenshots?

The images look a lot like all the others we have so far, but at least we now know that the newest addition to the Sonic universe, Silver the Hedgehog, is part of this handheld race. Will Silver have access to his Jean Grey-like telekinetic powers? Sega's not saying just yet, though judging by the floating leaf picture, we're guessing he's got a few tricks in his sneakers. The chrome-plated hedgehog makes his debut in this fall's next-gen Sonic the Hedgehog, due out for 360 and PS3.
