For those of you who never played Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Legendia, or any of the other outstanding “Tales of” games, this PSP-exclusive may seem less than interesting. Nearly all of the content in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology is borrowed from other Tales games, with a few standard RPG trappings tacked on. There is nothing really new or innovative to make the game memorable, but for fans of the franchise, Radiant Mythology is a nice trip down memory lane and a breath ...

Would we be crazy to say that the oceanic depth of Tekken: Dark Resurrection makes it the single best portable fighting game ever? Well, we're putting it out there just like that. Search as long as you want, complain all you like, but with more than 30 playable characters, a full roster of fighting styles and the best PSP graphics to date, there's barely even room for comparison. Dark Resurrection is, in actuality, nothing more than a port of an arcade Tekken 5 tweak. Two new fighters join the ...

Heres a nice surprise. Test Drive Unlimited is a huge game for PS2, and we thought there was no way it would all fit into the Mini Cooper-like confines of PSP, so as it was loading up an imaginary list was drawn up of presumed shortcomings. The game world would be smaller, the online racing would be crap and thered be far fewer cars you could ...

Simulation games are always a tricky proposition on consoles. The versatility of keyboard-and-mouse controls is hard to pull of on a gamepad, ergo some of the fun is often lost when the genre hits a console. But the developers at Frontier Developments, the makers of the renowned Rollercoaster Tycoon games, are up to the task of bringing the heady fun of theme-park simulation to consoles. For the most part, they succeed; the game mechanics in Thrillville work and there's a great deal of variety ...

Oct 18, 2007 The sandbox (genre) is no place for kids. Between GTA, Saint's Row, and True Crime, lil' Ginny Gamer has smartly stayed the hell out, lest she shovel up murder weapon Uzis or carry home a pail full of sticky condoms. Enter concerned citizen Lucasarts, who with their new theme park grab-bag Thrillville: Off the Rails, has picked out all the used syringes and, sack o' toys in hand, reclaimed the sandbox for ...

When you consider just how simple the basic premise of golf is - knocking a ball into a hole with a stick - the degree of hidden complexity is pretty amazing. This perennial offering takes heat for not changing a hell of a lot from year to year, and it's got more than its fair share of irritants, but familiarity doesn't necessarily equal stagnation. Certainly it's disappointing to see EA continue to spend time on needlessly detailed player creation and libraries of hats, shirts, sunglasses, ...

Sept 5, 2007 If it ain't broke, dont fix it. That must be the adage that EA Sports followed with this year's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 for the PSP; after all, it's another solid golf title that works on virtually every level. However, there's no denying one simple fact - with the exception of a few more courses and a couple of gimmicks, it's the same game from last year. Even moreso than your typical annual sports title, Tiger suffers from a serious case of been there, done that. Of course, if ...

If youre anything like us here at GamesRadar, you heard that Ubisoft was making a new Turtles game and you got at least a little excited. You instantly flashed back to those good ol days playing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games on the NES and were filled with all the giddy mouser-robot slashing anticipation of your childhood. Take our advice: go back to those NES classics, in all their 8-bit glory. They're better than this game and youll like 'em more; that is, unless you hate fun, ...

Aug 29, 2007 If you're going to put a shooter on a portable system - and why not? - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 does a decent job of trying to cram the action of a non-portable console action game into the PSP. It's dropped the typical squad based combat of its counterparts, and instead you play the lone-wolf soldier Capt. Scott Mitchell. Let's get the obvious thing out of the way first: There's only one analogue stick. To be fair, we knew that when we got our PSPs, though. ...

People keep going on about how the PS3 Vegas is a return to the highly tactical, slow-paced Rainbow Six games of old, but this PSP version refuses to play ball and stubbornly continues where Lockdown's more arcadey leanings left off on PS2. Maybe it's the handheld's limited capacity or its button layout restrictions, but Rainbow Six Vegas is one arduous shooting gallery of a game. There aren't any tactical planning options or squad-based shenanigans that would have brought some much-needed ...
