As was originally revealed by developers Insomniac Games earlier this month, the official community site for the Resistance videogame franchise was taken down last week to make way for a brand new redesign. Now available once more, the website offers much more in the way of direct communication between the development team and their audience.

Conflicting Gamers - Resistance was the FIRST franchise game for the PS3. Its spawned numerous sequels across many platforms. One of the first of those sequels was Resistance: Retribution for the PSP and Amazon has got a great deal on it! I myself never got to play this, but from what I hear, its definitely worth a play-through. CVG: Insomniac Games has signed a deal with EA Partners to create a franchise for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

Following the revelation of the PSP Essentials range and the two new additions to the PlayStation 3 Platinum range last week, a number of new titles have been confirmed for a re-release as part of the Platinum range on PlayStation Portable (PSP). The Platinum range consists of games which have seen significant popularity re-branded and offered at a greatly reduced price.

WorthPlaying contacted SCEA to find out if it planned to match the PSPgo Rewards program announced by SCEE this morning and was told that Sony had no plans at this time to match the European offer. There hasn't been any announcement yet that there will be an equivalent rewards program for North America...

NextGen Player writes: Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), Bend Studio and Global Gaming League (GGL) is currently running the $25,000 Road to Resistance: Retribution Tournament. The tournament offers a 2v2 and 4v4 format to enter into. The qualifying ladder portion of the tournament ends on May 10th. This tournament is open to legal residents of Canada and the US.
