WorthPlaying writes, Atlus U.S.A. titles are always hard to find at retail, and is now offering a number of titles from its PSP library as digital download via PlayStationNetwork: Crimson Gem Saga, Hammerin' Hero, Yggdra Union, Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament, R-Type Command, and Riviera: The Promised Land.

Rising Star Games have announced the release of R-Type Tactics for the Sony PSP. Available across Europe from September 26th 2008, this next instalment sees the classic brand reinvent itself as a tactical game, growing up with its fans throughout its 21 year legacy. With a pedigree which includes a reputation for being one of the best side-scrolling shooters in gaming history, the R-Type franchise is considered to be a cult masterpiece of the shooter genre. Celebrating its 21st year since first appearing in Japanese gaming arcades in 1987, R-Type Tactics melds this classic brand with state-of-the-art tactical gameplay.

PSP will be the home of the next R-Type game, titled R-Type Tactics, reveals the latest issue of Famitsu magazine. Firm gameplay details are yet to be revealed, but the word 'Tactics' in the title suggests it being some sort of turn-based strategy battle game, a theory supported by one of the screens in a blurry photo of the magazine.
