Prince of Persia: Rival Swords

Jake Gyllenhaal has been confirmed to play the prince in Jerry Bruckheimer's movie based on the Prince of Persia games.

Mike Newell, who directed Donnie Brasco and the forth Harry Potter movie, will take up directing duties, whilst Gemma Arterton (Bond girl to be in Quantum of Solace) will be the princess.

Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in Persia who joins forces with Tamina (Arterton) to prevent a nobleman

Tuesday 12 September 2006 Everyone's favourite time-controlling Iranian royal is making his way back to PSP this Christmas in the shape of Prince of Persia Rival Swords. As with his previous PSP outing he's retreading his steps through the most recent current-gen game - this time The Two Thrones - with a few new levels thrown in for good measure. Rival Swords features a new multiplayer mode, letting you race against a friend as either Prince or Dark Prince, triggering traps in their level

Today Ubisoft announced Prince of Persia Rival Swords for the PSP. Developed by Pipeworks Software, a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment, the game builds on last year's console success' Prince of Persia The Two Thrones, and features original content such as additional levels and new multiplayer modes. The game is scheduled to ship for holiday 2006 in Europe and in 2007 in North America.
