PSP Preview | Pac-Man World Rally
It seems to be a rite of passage that every cartoon-y, platform-y game character must eventually star in a kart racing game. This summer, one of the earliest arcade stars - Pac-Man, one of few modern game characters who can remember when Mario was a rookie - gets his turn behind the wheel. He's not alone - there are at least 15 characters in all, including the fire-breathing dragon Fygar from Namco's arcade classic Dig-Dug and a certain roll-headed prince from a more modern hit, Katamari ...

PSP - Pangya: Fantasy Golf - Pangya: Fantasy Golf - hands-on

Serious golf has its place in the gaming world, but plenty of gamers would just as soon embrace the lighter, more fantastical side of it. And there have been many great but simple golf games over years, such as Mario Golf and Hot Shots. Following in their footsteps and with a few more tricks in its bag of clubs, is Pangya: Fantasy Golf for the PSP. ...

PSP Preview | Patapon
Jan 2, 2008 Of all the curious (and exciting) concepts emanating from Sony Computer Entertainment's Japan studio (LocoRoco, Echochrome, The Eye of Judgment), Patapon may be the strangest of all. As the long-lost savior to the Patapons, a tribe of anthropomorphic eyeballs with arms and legs, you must pound out rhythmic patterns on your mystical drums (tied to the face buttons) to send your customizable minions into battle to reclaim their ...

PSP Preview | Pilot Academy
This lightweight flight sim evolved from the popular Japanese console series Pilot Ni Narou! (Let's Become A Pilot!) but, although producer Junichi Kutusuzawa still holds the reins, development duties have been assumed by Kuju's Sheffield studio. The team there is hoping to not just retain the games' accessibility and wide appeal, but to increase them in the transition to PSP. The controls are necessarily and reassuringly slim; the analogue slider is the stick, while triangle and square ...

PSP Preview | Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
This June, gamers will finally be able to play as pirate captain/drunken Keith Richards impersonator Jack Sparrow when the game adaptation of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest hits the PSP. A 3D slash 'em-up adventure, the game pits players against traps, cannibals, pirates and zombies as they battle to save Jack's soul from the ghost pirate Davy Jones. The single-player mode in Dead Man's Chest looks to be an average-y hack-and-slash brawler. Playing as Jack, you'll be able to use ...

PSP Preview | Power Stone Collection
A somewhat overlooked Dreamcast game, Power Stone had all but faded into the depths of our video game clogged cerebrums. That was until Capcom, in their continuing love affair with classic game collections, announced that it would be resurrecting both Power Stone and Power Stone 2 for the PSP as the Power Stone ...

PSP Preview | Power Stone Collection
Friday 9 June 2006 Though many a classic game earns due attention through a hook, given time even the best find themselves in need of something else - an excuse. Whether it's an emulator release, backwardly-compatible console or just a chance visit to a retentive arcade, it takes a modern twist of fate to give a game like Power Stone another dance. And it deserves the limelight. What a hook, after all: to be one of the only fighters to truly exploit the opportunities of 3D, doing so across ...

PSP Preview | Power Stone Collection
Considering that about 70% of modern fighting games rip it off wholesale, it's kind of surprising that Power Stone is relatively unknown. A simple, 3D one-on-one fighter with simple controls, devastating super attacks and fast, easy action, it all but ruled the Dreamcast launch. Of course, that and about $3.50 will buy it coffee at Starbucks. Still, Power Stone was awesome for its time, so it's good to see that Capcom's breathing new life into it with Power Stone Collection. Due out around the ...

PSP Preview | PSP
31 Aug 2007 Being one of the few hugely devoted Simpson's fans that religiously watches back to back episodes on cable TV every night, buys the box sets and regularly attempts to defend the recent series lack of form on the pretence they usually have at least one laugh out loud Homer moment, we've been rooting for a decent Simpsons game for years. Having to put up with people claiming that Hit 'n' Run was a 'good' Simpsons game (no it wasn't) was bad enough but the fact it turned out to be ...
