The juiciest tidbit from the April issue of EGM is kind of a bummer: A Crackdown sequel looks like it won't happen any time soon. Sure, Microsoft has danced around the idea of making another addictive orb-hunting shooter, but Quartermann says even if Crackdown 2 does come to fruition, original developer Realtime Worlds probably won't be making it.

Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Japan Studio, Patapon is a 2D platform-action game that transforms players into a drum-wielding leader responsible for guiding the Patapons, a small, quirky tribe of warriors seeking to reclaim their homeland. Following on the heels of a successful launch in Japan, Patapon makes its official North American debut featuring a one-of-a-kind art style, infectious music, and a unique control system where players will issue real-time commands to the Patapon troops through a variety of rhythm-based combinations. Patapon will be available at an MSRP of $19.99.

SCE Benelux announces Europe price and release date for the highly anticipated Patapon game for the PSP.
What would make Patapon even better? How about a budget price? It looks like SCEA may be trying to woo gamers into taking the plunge with these lovable critters by making the game launch at the very tasty price of $20. We don't know if this is just a price glitch on Gamestop's part, or if this price is official. We're hoping for the latter -- we know a lot more people will try this innovative game if they see it's available for so cheap.
