The villain ranks for the Lego Batman game due out later this year continues to swell. Last month 1UP reported on the inclusion of Bane, Clayface, and Nightwing. This month 1UP only has one, but it's a wild one, literally. Man-Bat will be bringing his genetically mashed up bat powers to the bad guys side. Like many villains, Man-Bat is the product of good intentions gone wrong. Dr. Kirk Langstrom in an attempt to cure his deafness creates a serum using bat DNA. While it successfully granted him bat-like sonar, it also turned him into a man-sized bat. He gained wings, allowing him to fly, and superhuman strength, but like a bat lost much of his ability to see in daylight.

If LEGO games had voiceovers, we'd be too afraid of hearing Schwarzenegger's brutally awful dialogue to actually play LEGO Batman after seeing these new screens.

And if it were any other game, we'd be complaining about the lack of real-time lighting and bump-mapped textures, but the LEGO games are so charming that it doesn't matter.

Nov 12, 2007 The first official teaser trailer has appeared online for LEGO Batman. The second LEGO tie-in from the studio (and with LEGO Indiana Jones on the way) carries the same old PR tag-line, with TT hoping to take both franchises "and make something unique." Traveller's Tales latest LEGO game, LEGO Batman, is due to release in 2008 according to a Variety report. The game is the result of a licensing deal struck between LEGO and Warner Bros., with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment financing development of the project. UK Video Game Chart: MGS4 knocked off the top (LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures)

Chart Track reports that Metal Gear Solid 4 has lost its place at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart after only one week at No.1. It's Activision's LEGO Indiana Jones which returns to the top for a second week.

Atari's Alone in the Dark debuts at No.3, and is followed by GTA 4 at No.4 and Wii Play at No.5. Other new entries include Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII at No.10, Top Spin 3 at No.12 and Cooking Guide at No.19.

LucasArts committed to internal studio (LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures)

LucasArts has reaffirmed the company's commitment to its internal studio and has denied rumours that will cease development after The Force Unleashed.

"We're committed to our internal studio," Lucas rep Margaret Grohne told Joystiq. "We're working on the next Indiana Jones game internally."

Grohne refused to comment on whether this would include future efforts, but did say that the company planned on outsourcing projects to other ...

VG247: Activision just put out a Lego Indiana Jones fact sheet that claims more than 60 characters are playable in the game, including Marion Ravenwood, Short Round, Rene Belloq, Willie Scott, Marcus Brody, Jones Senior and Mola Ram.

MCV: Though many of the release dates to emerge from last month's Play.com Live have proven unreliable, the date hinted for Lego Indiana Jones has been confirmed ¿ with the title is due for release in Europe on June 6th.

As per usual, the game will ship in North America on the preceding Tuesday, June 3rd. It is being released on 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2 and PC.

The game itself is surely more or less complete, with it yesterday having passed the BBFC ratings test, unsurprisingly receiving a U certificate.

London consumer show Play.com Live has given a Lego Indiana Jones Europe date as June 6 in a press release, the first mention of a specific date. The game has been confirmed as a June 3 release in the US.

"'LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures' will feature the user friendly drop-in/drop-out two-player cooperative feature that players have come to know and love," the game's producer, Shawn Storc, said to MTV Multiplayer in an e-mail provided by LucasArts public relations. "However, we are not expanding this feature to a higher player count. I certainly do apologize for any confusion that has arisen; we must have been in a LEGO induced haze at the Collector's Party."
